CHILDREN DESERVE MORE THAN “WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT.”

There is no perfect financial situation for becoming a parent, and struggling financially does not make someone a bad parent.

But repeatedly bringing children into a situation without considering whether you currently have the capacity, resources, time, stability, and support to meet their needs deserves an honest conversation.

Children shouldn't have to carry the consequences of adults refusing to plan.

Family planning isn't only about “Do I want another child?”

It's also:

“Can I responsibly care for another child without taking necessary resources, attention, stability, or care away from the children already depending on me?”

That's not about judging poor families.

That's about centering children in decisions that will shape their lives.

Before asking, “Do I want another child?” ask:

“Do I have the capacity to care for another child without taking from the children already depending on me?”

Children deserve to be considered in family planning too. ☕️

YOUR CHILDREN DON'T OWE YOU FOR RAISING THEM.

Providing food, shelter, clothing, love, and care isn't a debt you're building for your child to repay later.

Your children didn't ask to be born.
They are not your retirement plan.
They are not responsible for healing your loneliness.
And they don't owe you unlimited access to their adulthood because you fulfilled your responsibilities as their parent.

Raise children to live their own lives—not to spend adulthood paying you back for theirs.
