When Your Kid Calls You Out

Sometimes the most honest observations come from your own family.

During her conversation with Aamer Charania, Founding President & Chief AI Officer at Dallas AI, and Babar Bhatti, Co-Founder of Dallas AI, Fanny Dunagan shared a little reality check from her daughter.

Fanny’s daughter can tell when she edits a clip versus when her intern does.

Apparently, the intern’s version is “so much cooler.” 🤣

Nothing like your daughter letting you know exactly where you stand.

But she may have a point. Different generations see content differently, and sometimes the best way to stay current is to learn from each other.

What’s the funniest way someone younger has reminded you that you’re not quite as current as you thought?

AI’s Biggest Turning Point

The AI revolution didn’t happen when the technology became more powerful.

It happened when almost anyone could use it.

For Aamer Charania, Founding President & Chief AI Officer at Dallas AI, and Babar Bhatti, Chief AI Officer at PrismSkills.ai & Co-Founder of Dallas AI, ChatGPT marked a major turning point in truly democratizing AI.

Suddenly, advanced technology wasn’t limited to people with technical expertise. Students, professionals, retirees, and everyday internet users could simply start a conversation with AI.

Our host Fanny Dunagan saw that transformation in her own family. Her nearly 80 year old mother talks to ChatGPT like a best friend, asking questions, exploring recipes, and using it to help understand information in her everyday life.

That may be one of the biggest transformations ChatGPT created:

AI went from something many people heard about to something almost anyone could actually use.

What’s the Real ROI of AI?

The newest AI tool might be exciting. But is it solving the right problem?

In this episode of Tech Legacies, Fanny Dunagan sits down with Aamer Charania, Founding President & Chief AI Officer at Dallas AI, and Babar Bhatti, Chief AI Officer at PrismSkills.ai & Co-Founder of Dallas AI, to explore what it really takes to turn AI into business value.

Aamer breaks it down into three important considerations:

→ Start with the problem, not the technology.
→ Consider cost from the beginning.
→ Treat responsible AI as something that enables speed, not something that prevents it.

That last point may challenge how some teams think about AI governance.

Aamer compares responsible AI to the brakes on a car: they aren’t there simply to slow you down. They give you the confidence and control to move faster.

Because getting ROI from AI isn’t about using the newest technology just because you can. It’s about choosing the right technology for the problem, understanding the cost, and creating real business value.

How Much Will Your Job Change?

Will AI take your job? Babar Bhatti, Chief AI Officer at Prism & Co-Founder of Dallas AI, believes that question needs to be reframed.

AI is going to change everyone’s work, but not equally.

• One person’s job may change by 3%.
• Another person’s job may change by 97%.
• Routine tasks could be automated entirely.

The challenge for individuals and companies is identifying which work requires distinctly human value and which tasks intelligent machines can perform.

Watch to learn why understanding your daily work, not just your job title, may be the best way to prepare for what AI changes next.

Learn, Don’t Cheat

During a quick behind the scenes conversation, Tech Legacies podcast host Fanny Dunagan asked Aamer Charania, Founding President & Chief AI Officer at Dallas AI, for his top advice to college students using AI.

It took him only five seconds to answer:

“Use AI to learn, not to cheat.”

This candid moment captured an important distinction. AI can help students explore difficult concepts, ask better questions, and deepen their understanding. The value disappears when it becomes a substitute for thinking.

How can educators help students understand the difference?

Watch this behind the scenes short for one simple rule every student using AI should hear.

He Almost Shut It Down

More than 100 people signed up during the first week of Dallas AI. Instead of feeling successful, Aamer Charania, Founding President & Chief AI Officer at Dallas AI, felt overwhelmed enough to consider ending it.

• His wife encouraged him to find the right partner.
• A few days later, he shared his vision with Babar Bhatti.
• Babar immediately saw the potential and agreed to become co-founder.

Aamer calls choosing Babar his best decision for Dallas AI, but his wife insists it was only his second best.

Watch to hear how listening to her helped turn a group he nearly closed into a nonprofit community of more than 10,000 members.

Behind the scenes of the latest episode with Dallas AI 🌟🏙️
I sat down with co-founders Aamer Charania and Babar Bhatti — two MIT alumni who looked at Dallas and decided it needed a real AI community.
What started as that idea is now Texas’s largest nonprofit AI organization: 10,000+ members, 100+ events, and rooms that have included Google, Microsoft, Hugging Face, and more 👥💬
You’re not going to want to miss this episode ‼️🎙️🎬

AI Is Moving. Are You?

The newest episode of the Tech Legacies podcast just dropped!

Aamer Charania, Founding President & Chief AI Officer at Dallas AI, and Babar Bhatti, Chief AI Officer at Prism & Co-Founder of Dallas AI, join Fanny Dunagan for a candid conversation about preparing for what comes next.

Dallas AI began in 2017, years before ChatGPT brought artificial intelligence into the mainstream. What started with more than 100 members in its first week has grown into a nonprofit community of over 10,000 people.

In this episode, they explore:

• Why AI may change one person’s job by 3% and another’s by 97%
• How leaders can pursue measurable AI value without chasing every new tool
• Why responsible AI should function like brakes that allow innovation to move safely at high speed
• What businesses, educators, and individuals must learn, and unlearn, to keep pace

As AI continues moving faster than many of our habits and institutions, how can we adapt without losing the distinctly human value we bring?

Watch the full episode now on YouTube or listen on your favorite podcast platform to hear what two longtime AI leaders believe we should be doing today to prepare for tomorrow.

Will AI Change Your Job?

If AI changes every job, the real question may be: by how much?

Aamer Charania, Founding President & Chief AI Officer at Dallas AI, and Babar Bhatti, Chief AI Officer at Prism & Co-Founder of Dallas AI, join Fanny Dunagan on the #TechLegacies podcast to explore how AI is reshaping work, leadership, and the questions people are asking right now.

Dallas AI began in 2017 as neural networks and deep learning were gaining momentum. More than 100 people signed up in the first week. Today, the nonprofit community has grown to over 10,000 members while remaining committed to a clear mission: education without the sales pitch.

From the unexpected rise of ChatGPT to a future where one person’s job may change by 3% and another’s by 97%, Aamer and Babar challenge the all-or-nothing predictions surrounding AI.

Then Fanny asks the question Dallas AI members are raising most often:

What is their number one concern about AI?

The full episode drops tomorrow. Watch on YouTube or listen on your favorite podcast platform to hear the answer and learn how two Dallas AI leaders believe we should prepare for what comes next.
