Such a pleasure to work with Four Square Productions Ltd on The Brits 2026, building and installing the set.

It consisted of laminate flooring and facia that went on and around the entire stage, as well as metal structures/features that went around the video screens.

The combination of the simplistic set design with the grand video wall created an amazing set. Thank you to everyone who was there for your hard work, and especially to Four Square for being awesome as always. taken in Co-op Live by @technical_jude

Paris Olympics 2024 - Warner Bros Discovery TV Studios for Eurosport - Built and installed with Set Construction Group from Bristol.

I worked with SCG to build and install these 5 TV studios on the roof of the Raphael Hotel in Paris for the Olympics. At the workshop in Bristol, each studio was fabricated to locate any problems and ensure the install went smoothly, as we only 3 days to do so.

The team worked immensely hard to pull this off and everyone should be very proud of themselves. I'd like to thank SCG for this opportunity and look forward to collaborating on future projects.

Starter For Ten - Bristol Old Vic - Metalworker
04/01/24 - 30/03/24

Along with the workshop supervisor Ian Penny, I constructed the metal frame of this large set piece for The Bristol Old Vic's production of Starter For Ten, which is now on its way to the West End.

According to the technical drawings, I cut out the lengths of 50x50 box steel and welded the frame together. Split into 3 pieces, it was then bolted together to form the whole structure. Fixed castors were then welded to the base, which when combined with a motor, allowed the steps to move up and down stage. It was then clad in 18mm MDF by the Head Carpenter, Rhys Gillard, and painted by the Scenic Artist team.

Thank you to everyone within the company that made this show an absolute blast to work on! Good luck for London!!

A Kitchen Counter refurbishment project I did for a private client.

The counter had been cleaned with a harsh chemical that left noticeable stains. The client wanted these removed and the counter left looking new.

I used a card scraper to remove as much of the old oil as possible and then sanded the whole counter ensuring the stains were properly removed. Then, after cleaning, I applied 2 coats of Osmo Top Oil (chosen by the client).

We were both quite satisfied with the job. If you or anyone you know needs any home repairs, improvements, painting or decorating then let me know and I'll be happy to provide an affordable yet high quality service! 😊

It's been a very busy past few months, working for various different companies across the South West. From @bristololdvic1766 to @theatreroyalbath1805 to @setconstructiongroup and a few others along the way.

Becoming a Freelance Scenic Carpenter has certainly been an eye opener. I am constantly learning new techniques and skills that are making me a better worker everyday. Let's hope the work can keep coming in before the summer. taken in Bristol, United Kingdom by @technical_jude

The Brink - Bookshelves - Constrcution Manager

The BOVTS summer season came to a grand finale with this build. 3 bookshelves that all break apart during the show to represent the degrading mind of the main character.

Designed by @cryptidxart

I just wish I had more build photos! I'll leave the mechanics of it to your imagination. by @technical_jude

A Zipline I rigged with the Duty Tech's, Howie and LK, for a students show at Circomedia, during my work placement there.

Obviously we had to test it out to make sure it's safe to use, which proved to be quite fun.

It was rigged using 4 slings to create a square of points, that come together and meet at 1 central point. Then we cast a wire line to to the other side where a similar rig was made. Strap a harness on and we're good to go! taken in Circomedia by @technical_jude
