Party Smith’s (@techno_widow here on Insta) background reflects the vibrant eclecticism found in record shops, a path ignited in 1998, when she worked in three Lisbon record shops until the early 00s. Selling music to the Portuguese DJ community, she naturally became one herself. Starting out in chillout rooms, the interdisciplinary artist soon adapted her beats to keep pace with Lisbon’s vibrant late 90s techno scene. Shortly after, in 2003, she began a decade-long stint in London, spinning records and organising events in some of the city’s darkest corners. Whether a tripped-out pool party in Sri Lanka to a dark basement in Lisbon, Party Smith keeps the father of the bride, the teknival freak and the jazz trumpeter alike content in the dance. 🏵️ OXALÁ 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY POOL PARTY - SECRET LOCATION! 🏵️ Oxalá turns 3, and this year we are doing something very special to celebrate!! This Saturday, we’re leaving the bar for an open air daytime pool party that goes on until late at a secret location! Starting at 15h at an incredible spot in the Alcobaça area, surrounded by nature with pool, bar, food and a carefully curated line-up of djs for an unforgettable day and night. In true Oxalá spirit, the music will take us on a journey throughout the day starting with salsa, cumbia and latin/african rhythms by the pool, before gradually evolving into house/electro/proto/post-punk, and finally into a trancy, acid-laced techno mist for the night.
