Hold onto your hats… For the first time ever, Teddy is coming to life! 🧢

After years of living in the pages of our books, discussion cards, and activity boxes, we finally get to meet Teddy in a whole new way.

Cheeky smile. Endearing mistakes. And the kind heart we’ve come to love. Teddy has always been about more than getting things right. He gives kids a character to laugh with, learn from, and see themselves in. And he gives parents a way to open up conversations that truly matter.

All this to say, a very warm welcome to the world of Teddy!

Follow along as we move through Big feelings. Little lessons. Together.

Teddy was created by @drkanikak , former educator and doctor in education, and brought to life by our incredible friends at Miso Theory, @nealehemrajani and @chadhanina 🧡

I’ll joke with him like he’s my little brother… but I’ll parent him like he’s my son.

Because playfulness isn’t permissiveness. We can laugh, be silly, and genuinely enjoy our kids… and still hold boundaries, set expectations, and be the parent.

Connection and authority aren’t opposites. That’s authoritative parenting.

If only the me from 10 years ago could see me now. She was hurting, lost, and tired…but she kept going.

Today, I get to pour that journey into Teddy in Trouble - stories that help our little ones feel seen, heard, and curious.

As I think about the last few weeks of this year, I’m grateful for the growth, the grit, and the grace that got me here.

Here’s to the next decade of becoming. 🧡 by @teddyintroubleofficial

the little moments.

Those intentional conversations that help us connect with our kids, nurture empathy, and understand how they see the world 🧡

That’s why I created Teddy in Trouble’s Empathy Cards: talking cards for kids that make it easier to start meaningful conversations, wherever you are.

A little support for your conscious parenting journey.

Best for ages 4–8.

Okay, I saw the BEST thing on IG this week 🎃

This student chose Teddy for his “pumpkin book report” and… WHAT!!! The cap, the yarn hair, the exact outfit! 🧢

His mom messaged me saying the project wasn’t due for another week, but he was so excited that he took it to school early.

THIS is the magic of books. When a story and its characters live beyond the pages… in a child’s imagination and heart.

Go @sincerelyunnati for nurturing that love of reading and her son for absolutely nailing pumpkin Teddy!

Swipe to read his report. “I like the way he makes stuff fun.” 😭 That’s our Teddy!

Keeping the door open for conversation starts with small, everyday moments… on a walk, in the car, or before bed.

With my kids, “Did anything happen today that stood out to you?” usually gets them talking. Sometimes, sharing a little about my own day helps too.

If they don’t feel like talking, I leave the invitation open. If I say we’ll talk later, I make time… and follow through.

I want them to know I’m interested in their world… and there’s room for whatever’s on their mind 🧡 by @teddyintroubleofficial

The relationship you have with your kids when they’re older is built in the little moments when they’re young.

Taj turns 11 this month, and I feel so lucky that he still wants to spend time together - whether it’s talking Teddy strategy, playing mini hoop, or making ridiculous reels like this one.

I think so much of it comes down to prioritizing connection.

Listening even when the story feels way too long. Caring about what he cares about. Laughing together. Apologizing when I get things wrong. Making space for the little conversations so he knows he can come to me for the big ones.

And most importantly, enjoying him for who he is - not just parenting him toward who I want him to become.

Because I don’t just love my son. I really, really like him too 🧡

P.S. @payalforstyle , our phone call last week may or may not have inspired this one 🤭☎️ by @teddyintroubleofficial

Not just a book kids listen to… a story they get to be part of 🧡 Sparking curiosity, conversation, and meaningful connection 📚

When Teddy makes it off the page and into the classroom 🥹 One of the teachers drew this Teddy and taught her students how to draw him too!

Where the Teddy magic happened! Lots of raised hands, big ideas, predictions, and, of course, plenty of “TEDDYYY!” 📖 Rooted in research. Powered by play.

Ok so maybe my days don’t ALWAYS look like this 😂… BUT I do show up for things that matter most to me: meaningful conversations with the kids, growing Teddy, moving my body when I can, and trying to leave people feeling more seen and heard after we meet 🧡

In a world that moves so fast—filled with endless scrolling, notifications, and distractions—events like this remind us that nothing can truly replace genuine, in-person connection.

There is something so special about bringing a room full of inspiring, positive women together. The energy, the conversations, the encouragement, and the sense of community are impossible to recreate online.

Women are the heart of so much. We lead our families, build businesses, strengthen our workplaces, and lift each other up every single day. Spending a few hours together this morning was such a beautiful reminder of the power of showing up, connecting, and supporting one another.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made this event so meaningful. It was truly one of those mornings we’ll be thinking about for a long time 🤍
