I’m directing my first movie!!! With the best cast and crew I could ask for in the best place in the world.

Lots of people to thank but could do any of this without @meaghanjette who’s my North Star on all of this.

Two more weeks to go and then back in the UK.

Thanks to @variety for the article, link in bio! by @tediumentertainment

Sleep Singing -

Official Selection Short Shorts Film Festival.

“Mickey has always dreamed of dancing, but she is stuck in a rut, constantly dejected and undervalued - most of all by herself.

She sees something in Milo, who dances for herself, without abandon - and wants nothing more than to feel seen in return.

All it takes is a one piece of good news for everything to change.”

‘Catch a Butcher’ written & directed by @cassiahjj, produced by @tediumentertainment @mariamadalinamatei is available online on youtube via the horror streamer Alter, and online on BFIplayer: link in bio 🎥

Set in a maternity ward in 19th Century India, a young nurse’s first night on the job descends into terror as she discovers the truth behind the disappearance of mixed race babies. The film explores the pressure of being mixed race, and the power of the British Empire over Indian mothers and their Anglo-Indian children. Our film gives these women a voice who were so often nameless and forgotten; erased from their mixed race children's lives and identities.

The film attained backing from BFI Network Midlands, and was shot in January 2020 in Lincolnshire.
