On September 26, 2026, Wonderwhy held a community gathering at TEDxJakarta to discuss sleep in a city that never sleeps. 50 participants agreed and disagreed on prompts related to how we approach rest as professionals in Jakarta.

Is it worth it to sacrifice sleep to get ahead at work? Is it better to pursue a higher-paying job even if it means a longer commute?

-

Behind one stage are countless hands, hearts, and ideas that brought it to life💡

TEDxJakarta 2026 happened because of every person who showed up, worked together, collaborated, and believed that ideas change everything, that one idea can be the beginning of something bigger.

Because ideas worth sharing are also ideas worth echoing, ideas that deserve to be heard, carried forward, and turned into action.

To all our speakers, performers, volunteers, partners, crew, committee, and everyone who played a part in this journey, thank you for making 26 September 2026 a day to remember. This Credits Reel is for all of you ♥️🙏

-

There’s more to TEDxJakarta than what happens on stage👀

Beyond the talks, there are plenty of things to discover throughout Text and the City.

Join the conversation at the Unconference Circle with Wonderwhy, see Text and the City from a different perspective through the card game by Tentang Kita, discover the world of jamu with Lestari Jamuku, and explore more activities waiting for you around the venue.

So while you’re here for the ideas on stage, make sure to take a little time to explore what’s happening beyond it, too.

-

What can design learn from the way people adapt?

Meet Prananda Luffiansyah Malasan, a design anthropologist who sees design not only as something that is created, but also as something shaped by everyday life.

His work explores how people adapt, innovate, and build resilience in contexts that often go unnoticed. From understanding the lives of street food vendors in Bandung to contributing to collaborative disaster preparedness initiatives around the Lembang Fault.

At Text and the City, Prananda invites us to see the city from a different perspective. Not only through the buildings and spaces we pass every day, but through the habits, relationships, and ways people adapt within them.

Because perhaps, to understand a city, we first need to understand the people who make it come alive.
