Want to be part of the team behind TEDxWarwick? Applications are officially OPEN! Whether you’re a fresher or in your final year, we’d love to have you apply!

Team member positions are open across ALL roles, with Director positions also available in Marketing, Productions and Socials

Not sure which to apply for? Team members work within the team on projects and events, while Directors take on more responsibility, helping lead the team and organise what gets done

📅 Deadline: 13th October 2026

Applications may close early if we receive a high number of sign-ups, so don’t leave it until the last minute!

Compete for a spot at our TEDxWarwick conference, with the opportunity to have your talk published on the official TEDx YouTube channel

Attend workshops organised by Warwick Public Speaking Society to develop your public speaking skills and prepare for your talk

📌 You must be a TEDxWarwick member to participate

Fill in the application form in our Linktree to take part and find out more. Once you apply, you’ll be added to a group chat with other participants where we’ll keep you updated on deadlines, workshops and available support sessions

All participants must attend the mandatory Intro Workshop on 14th October 2026

Come find us at the Sports Hub on Thursday 1 October from 10:00–17:00. Meet the TEDxWarwick team, find out more about what we do, and ask us any questions you might have about the society, our events, or getting involved.

Then on Saturday 3 October from 16:00, join us at Windmill Hill for a picnic with @warwickdebating and @warwickpublicspeaking

Zahaan Bharmal is a NASA medal-winning science communicator, author, and senior director at Google. His acclaimed debut book ‘The Art of Physics’ explores how ideas from physics can reshape the way we approach life, work, and decision-making - earning praise from Alain de Botton, Thomas Erikson, and Cal Newport.

A Physics graduate of the University of Oxford and Fulbright Scholar at Stanford, Zahaan began his career as a policy adviser and speechwriter for the British Government before spending the last seventeen years at Google.

From government to tech to the laws of the universe - his work connects disciplines that rarely speak to each other.

Announcing our fifth speaker!❌🔥

Dr. Simon Hodes is an experienced London-based GP working both in the NHS and Private Sector with a special interest in preventative care, lifestyle medicine and the power of human connection in shaping long‑term health. Qualified in 1996, and full time GP since 2000 working in frontline primary care, he has championed a holistic, person‑centred approach that looks beyond symptoms to understand the social, emotional, and community factors influencing wellbeing and healthspan.

Simon’s clinical work spans traditional general practice, digital health innovation, and advocacy for more compassionate, relationship-driven healthcare systems. He is passionate about continuity of care, empowering patients through education, small sustainable lifestyle changes, and building stronger support networks—particularly in an era where loneliness, chronic disease, and burnout are on the rise.

Alongside his clinical practice, Simon regularly teaches, mentors, and speaks on topics including
cardio-metabolic health, behavioural change, longevity, and the evolving role of the GP.

His TEDx talk for “The Jigsaw of Healthcare,” explores why social connections are not a soft add‑on to medicine but a core determinant of healthy living—and how reconnecting with each other may be one of the most powerful

Introducing our fourth speaker!🎉

Graham Allcott is an author, speaker, and entrepreneur.

He is the author of multiple books, including the global bestseller How to Be a Productivity Ninja,
How to Have the Energy, and How to Fix Meetings. His latest book, KIND: The Quiet Power of Kindness at Work, focuses on why organisations with kinder, more human-centred cultures are ultimately more successful.
He is the founder of Think Productive, which since 2009 has been a professional development go-to for a variety of companies, including Amazon, British Airways, Disney, eBay, the British Red Cross and many more – and with offices in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UAE and the
Netherlands.

Earlier in his career, Graham was the co-founder of Intervol (an international student volunteering
charity), the Chief Executive of Student Volunteering England, the Head of Volunteering at the University of Birmingham, and an advisor to the UK Government on youth volunteering policy.

In his spare time, Graham is a DJ, with a leaning towards jazz, rare groove, and electronic music.
Despite an intolerance of failure elsewhere in his life, he is an Aston Villa season ticket holder and
an avid follower of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team.
