Yes yes party people. This is our last instalment of the monthly Che Mac & Friends at the four horsemen before our big festi season break

we have a very special one for this send off. @tee9_igs will be making his big return to the uk after almost a whole year away. We also have a fully local line up for this one, full of some of Bournemouths best jungle and hardcore DJs.

We will also have the full @the_blackboard_jungle soundsystem providing sound downstairs as well as @revolution__music_ supplying a whole night of tunes upstairs!!

HFBB002: @tee9_igs - ‘Each Time’

Tee9 is a Bournemouth-based DJ, producer and co-owner of the record label Ill Groove Society. Since stepping into production three years ago, he has showcased his passion for ragga jungle, chasing a sound that fuses the classic authenticity of the ’90s with forward-thinking production techniques. His music reflects both respect for the roots and a determination to push the genre into new territory.

“I first set out to write Each Time as an intro track for my sets. Inspired by soundclash culture, I sifted through iconic dub recordings to find vocal samples that carried the raw energy needed for introductions. I also drew from the soulful sampling style of Tom & Jerry, creating a contrast between the atmospheric introduction and the heavy amen drop.

For amen processing, I’ve always looked to Remarc. He’s the king of amen chopping in my eyes, and I aimed to craft a rhythmic break that echoed his sound. Layering these influences allowed me to pursue the mid-’90s ragga jungle aesthetic, which is a central goal in much of my production.”

Proper gassed to be playing at @boomtownfairofficial this year with my ill Groove crew. Spent a lot of my 2024 boomy at boomtown bobbies so I’m grateful to have the chance to play there myself.
