Everyone has a story

6 years ago I was a shell of a person, didn’t think I’d survive and, I didn’t want to.

6 years later, (almost to the day) I found myself on the @sydney_marathon start line.

I signed up on a whim, was successful and spent months training, hard, thinking my goal was to be fast and get it done..

When I touched down in Sydney, something shifted

I didn’t want to rush my body or the experience, I was completely immersed in the day, I had the fucking time of my life, as you can see ^

I still pushed hard but surrendered the pressure and obsession for a “good or fast” #strava 🥸

I wanted to soak in every possible second from gun time.. appreciate how big of a deal this event actually is.

Aaaaand I did, EEEEEEE!!!!! I think I “woooed” and pointed at thousands of people hahaha WHOLE DAY WAS AN ELECTRIC VIBE

Getting to run in a body I once genuinely didn’t think I would have.

I’ll be forever grateful to the ballot gods ( my HP) and the army that got me there, especially my beautiful partner who is my biggest fan.. and made this whole journey possible🫶🏼

Headed to the marathon expo on Friday to collect my bib, had to stop and share this moment with you guys!!!!!!

I am in constant awe of this city! 🌆

When I chose the accomodation I didn’t realise I would walk out to BOTH OPERA HOUSE AND THE BRIDGE.

Truly so lucky to be here in the position I am.

If you had told me 6 years ago I would be running @sydney_marathon I would have laughed and said you were insane!

In 7 days I will be 6 years sober.. then 2 days later, run 42.2km with loved ones waiting at the finish line..

SORRY WHAT?!?! 😭

What a privilege it is to wake up, to breathe, to walk, to have a healthy heart, body, legs, lungs, liver, to be healthy, to run, to have people who love me and I love them right back, to make mistakes and keep on making MORE MISTAKES.. (I am heavily flawed)

My entire life is a gift

Guys what the hell, the marathon is 10 days away and this taper feels like I’m learning to run all over again, I feel so heeeavvyyyy RIP #sydneymarathon

I’ve tried to be a 4am morning gal 😭I am a 6-9PM EXERCISER, how do you guys do this?

I force myself up on race days, force feeding myself coco pops and bagels,
but I have so much to do and pack for Sydney after I finish work,
I work a 32hr week..

(ALSO AT UNI) 🪦 trying to squeeze everything I have out of life.

What the hellllll I have been eyeing these off since their release🥹 I left it so late they basically sold out everywhere in Perth!! I CANT BELIEVE I GET TO RUN MY FIRST MARATHON IN THEM EEEE!!
