He has made everything beautiful in its time.
30 years of God’s faithfulness.
Not with all the answers.
But with deeper faith.
A softer heart.
Clearer discernment.
Stronger boundaries.
And a peace that no achievement could ever buy.
This next decade feels different.
Not because I believe life will suddenly become easy...
But because I’ve seen what God can do with surrendered years.
So here’s to the prayers that haven’t happened yet. The rooms with my name already written on them. The people Heaven is preparing to meet me. The love that won’t require me to shrink. The purpose that will outlive me. The joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances.
I have no intention of merely existing in this decade.
I intend to bloom.
To build.
To laugh loudly.
To love wisely.
To obey boldly.
To become everything Heaven whispered when it first imagined me.
Chapter 30.
I have a feeling this is the one I’ll tell my children about someday.

April 13th 2015, the life I knew for 19 years ended. Our world went pitch black because you were the light and color of our world. You were our everything. You were always there to make things happen.

I remember our last moments together, I remember the unfulfilled promises and dreams. I remember how much you loved and cared for us. I remember our lives with you in it. It still doesn’t make any sense that you are no more, I still don’t understand how it’s been 10 years without you. Some days, I wake up, I find myself wishing your death was just a dream and I just start crying.

There’s so much I want to say to you. Your babies are doing okay and I am very sure you are proud of us. We have AnjolaOluwa, she’s God’s gift to us and we wish you met her. She talks about you like she met you, she loves her grandma in heaven.

I pray that when Allah is pleased with us, we will meet you on the other side. May Allah forgive all your shortcomings!
