2026 Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Nationals here my dad comes!!! Second time making it to the ranch! I can’t believe it! My dad is GNARLY! This year I’m going to go for sure! The first time he qualified, I broke my leg and needed surgery the week before Loretta’s so I couldn’t attend, that was unfortunate timing. Qualifying the first time, after years of effort, he didn’t know if he would ever qualify again. He’s getting older, racing in a 50+ year old class. He’s 62, so his competition is probably close to 10 years younger than him. That makes a big difference in our sport. Regardless, he had a plan and stuck to it. When he wants something done, he makes it happen. That is truly admirable.
It feels weird to say I am proud of my dad, but for sure I am proud to be able to call him my dad. He is an inspiration. When I was younger I didn’t always see eye to eye with my dad, and there were times where I didn’t even talk to him for a whole year. My dad always said “I always just want you to do the best that you can” I didn’t believe him, I thought he was being too hard on me. During that time, a family friend and I were talking about it, and he said something I will never forget ; “even though you guys aren’t on the best terms, it seems like your dad wants the best for you, and is at least trying, that’s more than a lot of people get. You only get one dad, you don’t want to regret not spending enough time with him.” Im glad we got past that and now we do spend a lot of quality time together. As I get older I am starting to be more and more grateful for my parents. I am blessed. taken in Washougal Motocross Park LLC by @teejaytheginger60

2025 Isanti county fair!! SECOND CAREER WIN!!!! Lets go!!!! Man I was riding excellent, plus my starts were NEXT LEVEL all night. I did make a silly mistake in my first moto, I lost my balance and I low side tipped over in a corner (on video). I came back from last up to 5th in that first moto. Because of that I was looking at the track differently and was taking different lines to make the passes. That really opened up the track for me and showed me some great racing lines for later in the night. Because of that, and I cleaned up my racing for the rest of the motos, it turned out to be a great night results wise. It’s funny, when I got the Holeshot in the 450c and was leading, it was the classic “wow I am leading, I could really win this” and then instantly make a mistake because my mind was wondering. Because of that I started to tighten up and he eventually got me a couple corners before the last lap resulting in a second place in moto 1. That did prepare me for moto 2 / the main event. I told myself that I have done this before, the guy that beat me in the first moto was faster and I didn’t have anything for them. Then in the second moto / main event, I manage to get a good start and ride my own race without panicking or overthinking. Man there’s nothing like winning a race! I will say that the guy I beat in the last moto of the night, was faster than me on the jumps, but I was a little faster in the corners. You know what they say, Jumps for show, corners for dough. Nonetheless, i gave it my all. I made sure to get a great start, and ride smart. I didn’t falter, and didn’t give up the lead. Wire to wire victory! I went 5-3 for 3rd overall in 250c, and 2-1 for the OVERALL in 450c. My dad cleaned up shop, and went 1-1 in 450a, and 1-1 in vet 30+ for the overall. Another amazing night of faircross racing! Had to end the night and celebrate with a victory corn dog from the fair! #TTP #Blessed by @teejaytheginger60

Arlington 2026 Supercross.
My dad flew out to Oklahoma Friday evening, and we drove 3.5 hours straight to Arlington. Dude, what a day. First time at AT&T stadium for the 2026 Arlington supercross. It was better than I could have imagined. It was a beautiful day out, and the track was sick, which provided some AWESOME racing all day long. Plus there was a HUGE gnarly quad (everything is bigger in Texas) that was fun to watch. @cole17davies whoop speed is UNBELIEVABLE, watching him come from down in the first corner, to blowing by people in the whoops like they were standing still was something to watch first hand. It was awesome to see @hunterlawrence get his first win in person! I got an Arlington 2026 Supercross T-shirt, and I finally got my Roczen hoodie signed by @kenroczen94 himself! I’m going to have to get that framed hahahah. I am beyond stoked on that! I even got to see @jeremymcgrath , @jeremymartin6 , @tymasterpool , and even @nbajaycoop hanging out at the races, and even waved to them. Unreal, life is good, I could not have asked for a better day! taken in AT&T Stadium by @teejaytheginger60

Dang man. Motocross giveth, and motocross taketh away. This weekend was AWESOME until it wasn’t. It’s tough and frustrating. I have been riding the best I ever have in my life. I was starting to feel at one with the bike, really advancing in my confidence and skills. I was more aggressive, and I started scrubbing jumps more consistently and confidently. I was at Mankato on Saturday, It was unreal fun, it’s my favorite track by far. I was RIPPING, feeling amazing on the bike. I even passed my dad, straight up, for the first time in my life. That was an awesome feeling in itself. Then to top it off we grilled brats over a camp fire, the perfect end to a great day of riding. Sunday, we go to the Litchfield Motokazie fair race. All day I felt a little anxious and off, but when I got on the bike for practice, that all went away and I felt amazing. Confident on the bike, and in my riding. The first heat race starts. I get a solid 3rd place start, then In the 3rd corner I go to make a pass up into second. The straight coming into the corner had no traction, so I couldn’t stop or turn the best. I probably was a little too far back to try and make the pass, so I just ran us both up high into the corner and we got stuck, had to back up the bikes. Then I start charging up through the pack, making nice passes. I come up to the whoops and I was in second in the corner and then I would shift up into 3rd for the whoops. That lap I missed my shift and said screw it, I’ll just pin it in second. Well I’m at speed in the whoops, and I hear this gnarly sound (my engine blew up and seized) and next thing I know I’m being thrown over the bars and pile drive my shoulder into the ground. Causing a grade 5 AC separation. Man it seems every time I get back up to speed, I get knocked down again. It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s about how many times you get back up and keep fighting. Fall 7, rise 8, right? I know I probably sound crazy, but this is what I love. Motocross gives me an outlet to better myself. It’s so challenging and rewarding at the same time, there is nothing like it. Couple months of PT and I’ll be back. Photos are after and before. by @teejaytheginger60

It’s 2025 MN Faircoss szn baby!! That means racing under the lights, good battles, and of course you have to get a corn dog after the races! Chisago county fair was one for the books! I got to line up with and race against my dad and my cousin for the first time ever! So cool! Brandon (my cousin) laid up and battled with me a little, as the pictures show, we were having fun! I’ve never battled with him like that before. I have always seen my dad and Brandon battle, and one thing I will always remember, because I thought it was so cool, is that they would look over at each other in the air on jumps. I am glad I am at the level to be able to get to do all of that with my dad and cousin now. These are some good memories for sure! The track was sick as per usual, very fast, yet safe and very fun! I tried my best, gave it my all, and battled upfront, but the best I could do was a pair of 4th’s, 5-4 in 450c, and 4-4 in 250c on the night. My dad rode excellent, going 2-2 for second in 450a, and 1-1 for the win in vet 30+ showing the youngins’ (kids half his age) how it’s done. What an awesome night! Then I topped it off with a corn dog for good measure! #TTP #Blessed taken in Chisago County Fair by @teejaytheginger60

2025 Washougal Loretta Lynn’s Regional Qualifier. I’m a little late on these last two posts, but whatever. This was my first time riding on the pro national track!! It was absolutely sick!! This is my 3rd pro national track I have ridden on. This is the most scenic track I have ever seen. Plus the track itself is unreal how fun it is, with the hills and layout. The track was SOOOO GNARLY to say the LEAST. It was literally more rutty than a pro national day. Go back and watch washougal 2025 if you don’t believe me. There are not ruts like that in the corners, or faces of jumps, I can tell you that. I have never ridden on a track so gnarly, it was a learning experience for sure. Extremely challenging, yet very fun at the same time. It was not extremely hot, but the humidity zapped all the energy I had. I couldn’t believe how tired I got after just one lap. In all reality, I get past the area qualifier and into the regional by default, I’m not really a factor at the regional. Nonetheless, I was yelling “WooHoo!!” Every lap jumping down the ski jump into the famous S turn. Jumping down the hill, hitting the big breaking bumps, then sit and rip the rut. That was fun. My dad did the best he could, and came so close! They take the top 4 from the regional to transfer to the Loretta Lynn’s amateur national. My dad fought hard and was battling for it until the checkers. He made it last year, but came up just ONE spot short this year. He went 5-5 for 5th. Luckily he had a second chance (that’s why we went to Glen Helen for the area qualifier) at Hangtown for a second regional he qualified into. So he drove down from washougal one weekend, to Hangtown the very next weekend to try again. Unfortunately he came SO close, and got 5th overall AGAIN. It’s a tough pill to swallow, he has admitted that he’s getting older and doesn’t know if he can qualify again. I am so proud of him that he even qualified once. He wanted to qualify again was because my leg was broke last year and I had to get surgery during the Loretta’s week, so I was unable to attend. He wanted to make it again so I could at least come down and watch and experience it all with him. #iiwii #TTP #Blessed taken in Washougal Motocross Park LLC by @teejaytheginger60

2025 Glen Helen Loretta Lynn’s Area Qualifier. This is the first time I’ve raced at this track!! The hills are NO JOKE, super gnarly. I got to line up on the gate with the real @ryanvillopoto !! Plus @kkeefer120 and @maxlee_50 (Troy Lee’s son) How cool is that? I tried to give Villopoto a run for his money, but unfortunately I was not riding the best, and I was kinda struggling, and felt quite uncomfortable on the bike all day today, we’ll go back and work on our suspension and be better next race hahaha. All jokes aside, my riding was frustrating to say the least, oh well. It was quite the experience, the second pro national track I have ever ridden (Millville being the first). It was fun, there was one hip jump that you could scrub and felt like a pro. The hills were steep and long, the track broke down and got pretty one lined where the main inside line just pushed to the outside by the end of the day. It did not get rutty, just little sand berms in the corners. It was a FAST track, but no big sketchy jumps, everything way pretty mellow. My dad did pretty darn good. At 61 years old, and he’s battling against guys 10 years younger than him, and he is still competitive. He even won a moto in his 50+ class. We had a great time, it’s unreal I get to do all of this with my dad. The memories we are making are priceless, I am so blessed. #TTP #Blessed taken in Glen Helen Raceway by @teejaytheginger60

Dream Chasers MX LLAQ 2025.
Man, first race back on the bike and I was NERVOUS. I didn’t get much sleep the 3 nights before because I was so anxious. I just wanted to get through the day safe, with no injuries. The last two times I got back on the bike for the first time after an injury, I broke my leg. That is why I was so anxious. Granted they were both my fault for pushing too hard on the first ride back. You live and learn, so I took it “easy” today and did NOT push out of my comfort zone. My starts sucked, I get a great jump out of the gate and then I just bog 15 feet past the gate. I got to race a moto with my dad, my Jr 25+ class was dropped in the same race as my dads Masters 50+ That was cool to have two motos with my dad, that’s never happened before. The funny thing is I really didn’t feel comfortable seat bouncing jumps with how my sprocket ratio is right now, so I didn’t do half of the jumps and in the first moto my dad walked away from me. Whatever, it is what it is. Then in the second moto we played around and it was very fun to race with my dad. This is a starting point and it’s only up from here. I did dab my bad knee once, at a pretty good pace, and although it didn’t hurt at the moment, my knee was sore that night.

It was supposed to be cold, but it turned out to be much nicer day than anticipated. @dreamchasersracingmx added a bunch of mulch this year so track conditions were awesome! The soil is much better than last year. They added in a gnarly supercross section this year too. I was not happy with my riding at the beginning of the day, I felt very uncomfortable. Then as the day went on I felt better, but I still wasn’t as comfortable as I would have wanted. Oh well, I did my best, I had some good battles with some guys, and most importantly I had fun. Oh and WE QUALIFIED INTO WASHOUGAL FOR THE REGIONAL!! My dad rode SOLID, he got the Holeshot in both of his first motos and DOMINATED those motos, winning 45+ and 50+. Then played around in the second motos not caring about the result.
Good little 11 hour drive out here on Saturday, race Sunday, fly back home Monday. Then next weekend I’ll be at Glen Helen for another LLAQ! #TTP taken in Big Sky Speedway by @teejaytheginger60

Well, it’s been 5 weeks post op now, and I feel I am healing up pretty good (first two pictures are before, and after I got stitches out 2 weeks post op, and 3rd picture of 5 weeks post op). With this injury I am Non-Weight Bearing for about 6-8 weeks, and I’ve made it through 5 already, so we’re most of the way there! Hopefully in about a week or two I’ll be able to start slowly walking on it again. I have my 6 week post op appointment on Thursday of next week. If everything is going according to plan then the doctor will probably have me start some physical therapy and slowly start adding weight to the leg to get her back working again. MAN, I got quite a LOT of plates / rods & screws in my leg now. I even BENT the plate that was on my fibula from the first time I broke my leg. The surgeon said “that plate saved this injury from being much much worse.” (The 3rd and 2nd from last slides are a before and after picture of the plate on my fibula) So they say you got to look at the positives, with this injury I was able to take time off work to just sit around, relax, and do nothing. Read a book for training for work, plus I got to spend some time with my mom and dad a little bit more as well, which is always nice. Allegedly everything happens for a reason. I figure I am getting injured when I come back to riding because I get excited and try and bite off more than I can chew. I’m trying to do too much the first time I’m back on the bike. I just need to learn to slow down and take it slow the first month back riding. Oh well, you live and you learn, hopefully. taken in Rock and a Hard Place by @teejaytheginger60

Well, it could always be worse right? Turns out my leg is fractured in 2 spots on my tibia, and 1 spot on my fibula. This is the same leg I broke back in May of last year, so I already have some hardware in that area of my leg. The fracture on my fibula is under the plate that is already in my leg, so the surgeon believes that will not be an issue because that is being supported by the plate and screws that is already in there. Now looking at the X-rays the plate looked bent, and looking back at my old X-rays, it for sure has some bend in it (I wish I got a picture of that). The surgeon said that shouldn’t be an issue, plus to go in and take out the already existing plate, and then re-plate is a lot of extra work and extra recovery time if we don’t have to do it. So he is focusing on the two fractures on my tibia. Because of the placement of the fracture, he will have to remove some of the screws that is holding my rod in my tibia. But since the original fracture has completely healed, taking out those screws to get at the new fracture is not an issue. So I got surgery Monday to get some more hardware in my leg. Will have to be off the leg for a 6-8 weeks, and then in a boot for another month. Man I love this sport more than anything, but it sure will put you in some tough situations sometimes. Trying to stay positive, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? taken in Mercy Hospital by @teejaytheginger60

Well this is not optimal. Back at Dream Chasers Mx I tore my PCL completely, and sprained my MCL. No surgery required for that, so I just did physical therapy and healed up. Then first time back on the bike I go to Cambridge for their fair race, and planned on taking it easy. On the start I let everyone go and just rode around in the back to just have fun. I was having a LOT of fun until I wasn’t. In my 3rd race I was battling some guy down to the checkers, admittedly I was tired and made a big mistake, and was very nose high in the air on the finish line. I was too tired to correct it in the air, so I just fell of the back of the bike when I landed. I was worried about re-injuring my knee again so I was hesitant to get up at first because I didn’t know what damage might have been done. Then by the time I got up, unfortunately someone trippled (on a yellow flag) and jumped right into the back of me. He hit my right leg pretty good and his handle bars got me pretty good in my back right side. Go figure that was the leg I broke a year ago, and had surgery on, and got a rod in my Tib, and plate on my Fib. Last night, X-rays did not show anything broken, but then I had a CAT scan done and they found two new fractures, one on each side of my leg. I am unbelievably disappointed and embarrassed with myself, and just angry that this happened the way it did. Hindsight is 20/20 and It’s in the past, nothing I can do about it now. I could easily sit here all day and get mad at myself, as to why I did not get off the track sooner. But there is no reason to sit here and beat myself up, especially when that will change nothing. I just hope no one else got hurt. taken in Isanti County Fair by @teejaytheginger60
