Teesside University earned victory over Northumbria III in a thrilling finish at Olympia.

Teesside lost the away game earlier in the season but have developed so much in recent months and earned a 10pt lead within the first half.

Northumbria were always a threat however and tied the game 31-31 at half time.

The second half was a rollercoaster as both teams battled for control. Northumbria looked to have the edge but an inspirational finish from Teesside brought the home fans to their feet as Ting Yang made a finish at the basket, under pressure, to take a 1pt lead and change the dynamic of the game. Yang was injured in the play but Toby Scully with a smooth mid range, and Aaron Clifford with a cool free throw stepped up to grind out the result, 68-66.

Temi Olusesi was the MVP and worked tirelessly for the team at both ends of the court.
