Teaching online has given me my life back! 👩🏼‍🏫

I spent 6 years teaching abroad in schools around the world and online teaching was only a little side hustle✈️

After having a pretty bad teaching experience earlier this year, it gave me the motivation to pour everything into online teaching and I knew I had to make it work✨

Over these last 7 months, I’ve worked with many different students teaching through different companies and online platforms, I made the move back to Thailand and adopted a little stray cat and everything feels like it’s fallen into place💖

And, I want to help you on your journey! I share all about TEFL, giving you tips to help you on your own journey as well as showing what this lifestyle looks like for me!🌴

It’s the end of an era!😢

I first came to Thailand 2.5 years ago, where I lived in this room and taught TEFL online. I was only teaching freelance and didn’t have many students, so it felt more like a holiday!💫

And I absolutely loved living on Koh Phangna, so much that when I left and came back to the UK, I desperately wanted to return✈️

But, I taught in Sicily, Vietnam, Cambodia, LA, Edinburgh and in my hometown. Then I started to work for online companies and built up my own students, so now I can teach from anywhere🌎

That’s when I knew I could return to the island… to the exact same room! And I love this place, so it’s feels a little sad leaving! However, I’m not too far away, I now have a new room in the same complex and I’ll be sharing a video on this space soon💻

I love that I’ve been able to teach abroad in some many different countries, but now it feels like the perfect time to just teach online while making a place feel like a home🌴

Hi 👋🏼 my name is Katie and I share all about TEFL, helping you on your journey and showing what life looks like for me!✈️🌎👩🏼‍🏫

Teach with me 👩🏼‍🏫

I’m a TEFL teacher, but I’m also teaching geography and despite not being a geography teacher, I’m absolutely loving it🌎

I find it so interesting and we spend the lesson looking at different worksheets, activities and games!💫

I think my students enjoyed this lesson just as much as me!✏️💻

Hi 👋🏼 my name is Katie and I share what teaching TEFL looks like for me, as well as giving you tips and showing life in Thailand! I’ll be sharing more lesson plan ideas to help with your teaching!💫

It’s the silver lining…

If I didn’t get suspended from teaching in Vietnam, I wouldn’t have left the school and moved my teaching career fully online, then moved back to Thailand and found a stray cat, who I adopted and now sleeps in my bed… sometimes the bad situations, are pushing us to where we need to go💫

I’m grateful for how everything turned out and I’m helping others on their teach journey👩🏼‍🏫

My messages are always open 💌

Moving my teaching career online, is probably the best thing I’ve done for myself💫👩🏼‍🏫

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve absolutely loved teaching in schools around the world, but right now I feel like I’m exactly where I need to be🌎✈️

Teaching online has given me more time for myself and the freedom and flexibility to live anywhere… so of course I chose Thailand!

Due to time zones and my students going to school throughout the day, my classes take place in the afternoon / evenings, meaning my mornings are for myself!🥰

I share all about TEFL, living abroad and giving tips to help you on your journey, as well as sharing what life looks like for me!🌴👩🏼‍🏫💌

Follow along to see the journey!💫

I live in Thailand, while teaching TEFL & I share what life looks like for me and giving tips to help you on your journey… as well as what life abroad is like for me!👩🏼‍🏫🌸

The truth about teaching online, for me!👩🏼‍🏫

I always talk about how much freedom and flexibility teaching online has given me, how my mornings are for myself and l wouldn’t have it any other way…

But this does mean I teach late in the evenings, usually finishing work around 9pm /9:30pm and when the clocks change this will be an hour later for my European students!

I can’t complain because I’m living from Thailand and this life feels like a dream… but it’s something to consider if you are thinking about moving your teaching career online!

I’ll be sharing more on TEFL, living abroad and giving you tips to help on your journey👩🏼‍🏫✈️🌎🌴

Having a relaxing moment until I realised I was sitting on ants!! 🐜

I didn’t actually realise how bad ants were until I came to Thailand! They are everywhere and they bite too!🫣

But, it doesn’t take away from the beauty that is here 🌴💫

Becoming a TEFL teacher will open so many doors / possibilities for you!💫

I started by working in summer camps: this is short term work over the summer teaching abroad / in the UK!

In 2022 I taught in Italy
In 2023 & 2024 I taught in LA
In 2025 I taught in Edinburgh

All for 6 weeks teaching Italian students while also exploring somewhere new!❤️

I’ve worked in a college in my hometown teaching adults! 👩🏼‍🏫

You can move abroad and work directly in schools! 📚

I’ve taught in a private school in Sicily to children, teens & adults🇮🇹

I’ve also worked in kindergarten in Vietnam 🇻🇳

And now… I teach fully online!💻

There’s not one path you can go down with TETL, there’s so many different options and I’ve loved exploring different ways of teaching along the way✨

I share all about TEFL, giving tips to help you on your journey & showing what my life looks like living in Thailand while teaching online 💻🇹🇭🌱

Fun, creative lesson that you can try with your students👩🏼‍🏫

In previous lesson we spent time looking over at adjectives, the order of sequence and how to use them in sentence, to round up these last few lesson, I create a fun activity to put it all into practice!

After the student has got the adjectives that best describe themselves, they can create some sentences using each adjective!
