Wanderer’s Reverie

A drifting begins.

Sweet. Effortless. Almost invited.

The wanderer does not notice the moment she leaves herself. Reverie does not announce its arrival. It simply opens, like a field with no fences, and she walks in.

The sky asks nothing of her, not direction, not devotion, not return. This is its lure. This is its danger.

She is not lost yet but she is no longer certain of the way back.
Birds pass overhead like whispers. The meadow hums with a beauty that asks only that she stay. Linger. Forget.
And she almost does.

There is a pleasure in dissolving. In drifting so gently that the drift feels like freedom.
But freedom and wandering are not the same.

Somewhere, faint, something calls. The way a name is spoken by someone who has not stopped looking.

She is not yet found. But she is not forgotten.
And in that, the first thread back.
