Global script families are everywhere now. Many are beautiful with multiple variable axes, large language support, and real craft behind them.

But you rarely see all the scripts together in one context, side by side. To me, the most beautiful part of a global family is seeing every script standing shoulder to shoulder, oneness in diversity❤️

I built a small multilingual type visualizer to highlight this. You enter a word, see its translations, and animate the weight axis. It’s simple, but it reveals a perspective many specimens miss.

I’m currently using Noto Sans. Maybe one of the largest multilingual type family out there. #notofu

- an advice I really liked which came from one of my friend.

This is one of the first code-sketch I did while playing with canvas and text. I was trying to recreate one of @justvanrossum 's sketch (slide 02), It was one of the key inspiration behind this.

I got into creative coding for its stunning visuals. But as I practiced, I realised the beauty also lies in how the code creates them. Here I am sharing some sketches I made while playing with text and canvases. All the sketches are made with similar variables but they look very different from each other. It's the beauty of this medium❤️

मनी मानवी व्यर्थ चिंता वाहते |
अकस्मात होणार होऊन जाते ||
Meaning:
(We) humans hold unnecessary fears in heart. Events happens suddenly and it passes away.

This poem came in my mind after completing my 15mins paper presentation at Typoday 2025 at IDC School Of Design, IIT Bombay.

I started working on this in December 2024, and after a lot of back and forth, I finalized a draft and put together a presentation. Writing this paper was a learning experience in itself—I got to reflect on my explorations and document my process and insights.

Had a great time sharing my paper "Creative Coding with Devanagari Typography" at Typoday 2025. I enjoyed talking with students, teachers, and professionals about creative coding and was happy to see their excitement about the field.❤️💯

Akshar Vihar is a typography tool which generates visual compositions in multiple indian scripts. I really wanted to make a custom typography tool which focuses on indian scripts.
