Manuela is finished ✨

& just in time for the cooler autumn weather! It’s the perfect transition piece, I’m currently wearing it and I’m in love. Manuela is one of the patterns from @eweknitto upcoming book, Threads of Memory, Hilados de la Memoria. It’s a compound raglan with really nice shaping details, I went with the double knit button band option and paired it with lightweight metal buttons I got from @shoplamercerie

I really wanted a lightweight transitional cardi, so I knew the Comfort Silk Linen from @aimeeshermakes I had in stash would be perfect! It’s 50% merino, 25% silk & 25% linen and it is so lovely to work with, & to wear. I used the color elderberry, I will always love blue but I’ve been using it so much lately that I think I’m ready for some color variety up next lol.

A fingering weight long sleeve piece means for miles and miles of stitches but I have been in just the right mind space for endless stockinette on 3 mm needles. Yes I know that’s crazy but I am who I am 😂

Just wrapped up the gypsophila KAL with @knitters.inthewild ! This was my first time participating in a KAL and I had such a good time 🫶🏼

I knit my shawl in @zeezeetextiles silk sock in Elberdrichel, that I picked up at flock last year. It’s so smooth and lightweight, perfect for transitional weather. Elbie worked up stunningly, just look at those colors!! If you have a single skein of variegated yarn I highly recommend this pattern, all of the different yarns in the KAL were so beautiful! by @tejedora.knits

Patiently waiting for autumn 🌞🍂

In the mean time, summer knits are on month 7 of rotation 😮‍💨

Y’all know I’m a huge fan of @ailbiona patterns, and her Ada top did not disappoint! The yarn on the other hand…

I used a discontinued yarn, silk ribbon from Alchemy yarns of transformation, & holy moly was it a struggle. I had such a hard time with splitting and tangles, and the color pooling is pretty significant despite alternating skeins. On the bright side, it was free-ish lol (from the stash I bought out earlier this year)

Silk was the star of this summer. Linen and cotton are my defaults but this year I knit 3, 100% silk tops & thrifted some silk button downs. They’ve all been so so lovey to wear in this eternal summer.

P.S. my photographer’s skills have increased significantly since the start of the year by @tejedora.knits

This year is racing towards the finish line 😨

I need to catch up with my FO photography back log 😬 when I first started posting here, taking pictures felt like such a chore. But slowly it became more enjoyable, giving my beloved projects a moment to shine ✨

My yarn collection got a lot of TLC this month. Ironically, I destashed a few yarns I previously purchased from other destashes lol. Earlier in my knitting I went for yarns that were a great deal, even if they weren’t the right colors, and my fiber preferences have also evolved a lot. I want to feel excited about every yarn I have, and I’m slowly getting there! With the funds from my destash I bought a few new yarns that are far more aligned with my current preferences.

In terms of actual knitting, I’m deep in gift knitting & I’m really looking forward to finishing up a lot of WIPs in October. by @tejedora.knits

I almost forgot to share this sweet little knit 🍓

Knitting for children is the absolute sweetest, and really pushes my creativity bc they can pull off anything! I hear some back and forth as to weather kids are knitworthy, but I have never regretted any of the knits I’ve made for my son and niece, so onward we continue!

I made the fruit sweater jr from @skaberglaede for my niece’s strawberry themed first birthday. Yarns are from @knit_picks their woolen cotton and memento cotton. The pattern was so enjoyable, and I know my heart will be a puddle when I see a strawberry running around this winter! by @tejedora.knits

I got the chance to preview knit Manuela from @eweknitto upcoming book with @dream.cozy Threads of Memory. It’s been very meditative and just what I need on the needles right now.

It’s Struan release day!

How many times can I express how much I love @the.creabea ‘s knitting patterns?? My son loves full zip sweaters, so I was very happy to join this test knit and make him a handmade version!

I made fit 2, as the pattern is graded with both a men’s and women’s size chart. Installing the zipper expanded my skill set, and really was not hard at all.

🧶 is @purlsoho knitting yarn DK in the color hydro blue. I let my son choose the color and, surprise surprise he chose blue lol

I’m really happy with how it turned out & we are both looking forward to cooler days and have this piece be a staple in his winter wardrobe. by @tejedora.knits

Ravenna socks are here 🧦

I got to test knit the Ravenna socks for @meeshyfrazz & they were so fun!! It was my first time trying Estonian buttons, and they are 100x better than bobbles lol. I need to work on expanding my Ravenna collection!

I tried out a shadow wrap heel for the first time, and honestly it was not fun to knit 😬 and I definitely messed up some of the triple stitches, but I will say it fits really well. It’s roomier than a short row heel, and I could see myself using this heel again despite the fiddly stitches.

I made the size small on 2mm needles, and the yarn is my favorite silk sock from @zeezeetextiles I used the mystery color way leftovers from my previous sock project, with scraps for the cuffs and toes.

I’m really happy with the outcome, and I’m so really for knit sock season to start! by @tejedora.knits

My Christmas gift knits are in full swing, so what a better time than to get started on my Christmas sweater! Yes, I’m waaaaay ahead of myself but I’m so incredibly sick of the heat I need this level of delusion right now.

I dusted off my copy of 52 weeks of sweaters, & will be making the mooring sweater from @meggospurls in a bright true red from @theuncommonthread (that I actually got in a destash from Meghan lol). The catch is, I’ll be trying to adjust an Aran weight pattern to a sport weight. Bc hot girl in a hot climate problems. Wish me luck 🤞🏼

I’m actually doing a proper, blocked gauge swatch in the hopes my math won’t do me dirty. I just discovered the @cast.along app recently, which is such an opportune find to double check my numbers. by @tejedora.knits

Mentally, it’s fall 🍂 Physically it’s very much still summer 🌞

So, my wavy lace cami by @friday.knits is still in heavy rotation. Knit up in 100 gm of mulberry silk (discontinued from Vijay fibers) it feels weightless during brutal summer days.

I discovered the magic of variegated yarns + texture! It creates a shapshifting flow of color that is mesmerizing and so satisfying. It’s my mermaid tank 🧜🏼‍♀️

I did a bit of yarn management to squeeze out every row possible from the single skein I had, and added some scraps for the tie straps. I truly love this piece, wearing it brightens up difficult summer days. by @tejedora.knits

I found so many winners in @life_is_cozy ‘s new book, and I haven’t even started going through my partial skeins drawer! I’m excited to whip up cozy accessories for the upcoming season 🍂

So ready to see the end of this month! Hoping for the best of vibes for September.

I had to push back my sewing plans but I’m really hopeful I’ll get started next month. I’m looking forward to sewing, spinning, gift knits & a even joining a little KAL! I’m not ready for fall knitting quite yet, I’ll get there eventually…

& a big win for using more yarn than I brought in 🎉
