To Thee Melodic Stepping Experience Inc.

To be an owl, those words hold more weight than words can express. My first organization on campus, my introduction to the art of stepping. This organization has taught me so much about persistence, courage, and family. Through this organization I have found and fostered my love for performance and community. I have made connections that will last a lifetime. Thank you for giving me a sense of confidence and space to grow in a talent I didn’t even know I possessed before coming to FAMU. To the One and Only Sorority,

To My Dear Beta Alpha,
These past two years have been nothing shy of a rollercoaster; ups, downs, twists and turns and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. The lessons I’ve learned and the bonds I’ve built have shaped me in ways I never imagined. Through every challenge and every triumph, I found strength, sisterhood, and purpose. I will always represent the BADST with love and pride.

My 59 heartbeats, the REAL yard runners. I have nothing but the utmost love and respect for the amazing women that were so meticulously placed in my life. The memories I have made with you all are already enough to last a lifetime and we still have a lifetime more to go. I love you guys so much. From late night practices trying crazy stunts, to stressing about closed thumbs and pointed toes. It’s been such a privilege to watch you all grow and blossom into the fantastic young women you all are. I call y’all my sisters with pride, I stand 10 toes down behind all of y’all. Monaeeee, where do I begin! Wow are you my clone! I love you like my momma made you. You are such an outstanding young woman and I’m so grateful for the bond and connection we already share and can’t wait to strengthen it as we grow closer. Thank you for being the women who introduced me to this illustrious sisterhood. To my Mommy Soror thank you for starting a legacy and carrying the torch with such intelligence and wisdom that it left me with no choice but to follow in your footsteps. I love you. Thank you to the College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities…

This College strengthened not only my interest but my love for the field of psychology. I am excited to deepen my knowledge and understanding through more education, experience, and opportunities.

Beyond psychology as a whole, CSSAH has taught me the practices of Black Psychology. It gave me a sense of purpose within the field, made me feel seen.

I’m excited for what’s going to come as I prepare to continue my education by receiving my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University.
