POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Proud to present Matariki Matarau, my new reo Māori series launching on the 10th of July. It sheds light on non-Māori who have committed to learning Te Reo, and explores similarities between their cultures and Te Ao Māori.

Like the mātauranga embedded in Matariki above, it has potential to bring cultural awareness to us on the ground.

Our kaikōrero reluctantly and bravely accepted my challenge to share their story on camera. If you’ve ever been on camera before you know, how hard it can be. They did it with utmost humility and passion for the kaupapa of Te Reo revitalisation and kotahitanga. I know their stories, and our work, will be received with the dignity and respect that’s at the heart of Te Ao Māori and Aotearoa.

Proud to be partnering with @maoriplus and Whakaata Māori for another series, thankful to the crew who helped bring it to life. He hōtaka reo Māori tēnei. Nā @juliezhuu ēnei whakaahua i kapo, nāna tonu ngā kiritata i hopu 🎥 🐎 by @tekurudewes

Mr G is recognised for his large-scale murals across Aotearoa and around the world.

From Merata Mita in Rotorua, to Hana Te Hemara in Ngāmotu, all the way to Steven Adamas in Oklahoma and Prince in Minnesota, his works have made a mark on the visual landscape and provide a commentary on the culture.

What is less commonly known are the origins of his practice and his motivations as a multi-dimensional artist.

Find out more about the artist from Ngāti Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, and Ngāti Awa as he navigates the space between the traditional and the contemporary.
