Kyrgyz filmmaker Tynystan Temirzhan @teliby_ wins support in Macau!

At the Macau International Film Camp 2025 (September 11–15), director Tynystan Temirzhan received financial support for his upcoming short film “Forgive Me, Friend”.

He proudly represented Kyrgyzstan as the first participant from Central Asia, joining 17 young directors from China, South Korea, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and India.

The project brings together a talented team:
Producer – Suyum Sulaymanova @suium_sulaimanova
Cinematographer – Erzhan Arakeev @arakeeverzhan
Designer – Dastan Borkosh @dastan.miraj

The Macau International Film Camp is dedicated to creative storytelling, cultural exchange, and professional growth. Its mission is to help young filmmakers expand their knowledge of cinema, build international connections, and develop practical skills.

This achievement marks an important step for Kyrgyz cinema on the global stage!

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the mentors, the IFC, the @asianfilmawardsacademy , and especially to Roger Garcia for your trust and support 🫂

For us, it is a true honor to be part of this program and to receive such recognition. We are deeply inspired by the opportunity to learn from world-class professionals and to grow alongside young filmmakers from across Asia.

Representing Kyrgyz cinema on the global stage is both a responsibility and a joy. We are proud to share our stories with the world and to show the voice of our culture through film.

This is just the beginning — more good news is on the way! taken in Macao, China by @teliby_

Tynystan Temirzhan’s new project — “Forgive Me, Friend” — tells the story of the challenges of growing up through the friendship of teenagers.

This work explores the rarely addressed theme of coming of age from a fresh perspective, delving into the protagonist’s inner turmoil of conflict, shame, and guilt.
