We had the honor of documenting Yale’s Kente Stole Ceremony, celebrating Black graduates as they close one chapter and begin another.

Big thank you to @dean_bethel for trusting us and giving us the space to be creative. Opportunities like this remind us why we started Tell Ours Studio in the first place.

Shout out to my team for helping bring this piece to life.

And to the graduates, congratulations. You come from a people who have always found a way to turn obstacles into opportunity. Wherever life takes you next, carry that history with you and keep building. The next generation is watching.

Congratulations, Class of 2026.

Warmly,
Tell Ours Studio

This @telloursstudio piece follows my brother Shakur as he graduates from Wesleyan University.

The degree matters. But so do all the graduations that came before it.

From prison. From old versions of himself. From every place that said he wouldn’t make it.

Thank you, Shakur, for letting us preserve this moment. And thank you to @twheelwrightcpe and the @centerforprisoneducation for welcoming us into your space.

Still Arriving. by @telloursstudio

For generations, the Freddy Fixer Parade has been more than a parade. It’s a reminder of what community looks like.

Families on the sidewalks. Music in the streets. Neighbors reconnecting. A celebration of the people who make New Haven home.

@telloursstudio is honored to document this year’s parade and capture the joy, pride, and love that continue to bring this city together taken in New Haven, Connecticut by @telloursstudio

@telloursstudio was honored to cover Blossoming Beyond Bars @blossomingbeyondbars a day that put women’s reentry at the forefront.

From essential supplies and financial wellness resources to honest conversations and community support, the conference made room for women to be seen, supported, and celebrated as they build what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who brought this day to life and trusted us to tell its story. by @telloursstudio
