TENE•MENT The Book?, edited and sequenced in 2019 and basically shelved. Part photobook, part snapshot reportage, part diary, fine art monograph? This is essentially a document of TENEMENTs many adventures in 2016-2017.

Assembled from darkroom prints with their lovely grain I made at a darkroom I put together in the basement storage room at @crutchofmemory, thanks for dealing with my oddball comings and goings.

Some @borchardt.mark x @temenent knowledge

It's been nearly ten years now since we spent three days in a cabin in rural WI w/ the buddy Mark Borchardt and @ruliablair & shot the video for Garden Of Secrecy; building 16 ft tall letters with hammers & nails in a blizzard

We decided we wanted Mark to deliver a monologue over some opening footage and we workshopped together at @crutchofmemory to assemble something that encompassed the feeling of the song, which is to say: the rotten yield of capitalism, the isolation of rural America and its social decay by @temenent

We closed another small chapter of tenement history yesterday eating at our favorite little diner in Cincinnati and digging thru jazz & punk records in a basement on the west end of town before dragging our asses ten hours back to the Dairyland. Six years have gone by since the last time we physically got together to do this thing and in the meantime there had been not a glimmer of abandonment. We like to say we're too stupid to scare easy and that might be true, but we're also really lucky in that as the years march on more and more people seem to care about what it is we do and have done.

If you were at the shows this past week, you'd probably know that one of the major things that made them special was having @jerriqueeen playing second guitar and singing; heightening the arrangements to the standard of what's on our albums. When I say it was an incredible privilege to have him along, I'm not speaking hyperbole. We also had road dog @cutepube
on the team keeping morale high during overnight drives and giving jesse someone to talk to at length about socialism, free jazz, and finland. Thanks john!
