A dance community with no archive of itself forgets itself, and it’s rarely an equal forgetting; women’s and marginalised practitioners’ contributions are often the first lost and the last recovered. Research and documentation aren’t the opposite of practice; they’re what decides whose knowledge survives and whose doesn’t.

On the day we celebrate how far we have come, we should also ask where we are going, what kind of nation we are building.

In The Beginning is a story that embodies us as a nation, born from love, Peace and Unity as the foundation and situation as we experience it today. Going beyond the image of a changing country, It is a mirror to the many aspects of our journeys as people — especially when we come together, pursue a shared goal, and find ourselves confronted by our differences.

I hope this film can live beyond the screen and become an important point for conversations — in classrooms, communities, organisations, gatherings, and spaces where people come together to discuss the world we are building and who we're becoming.

Because sometimes, real impact begins when we sit together, watch, listen, have honest conversations and actually try to do something about it.

FIKAYOMI… a chilled girl from Muwonleru village, I like her .

What a joy to have played a girl healed by God in AGBARA NLA; The Return … A miraculous mirroring of my own life ….
It was fun to drop the tittle of “Costume!!” (As @lordjoshwrites would always shout! 😫) and be talent on set for a few days . Best believe I made Titi the cast chaperone work 😆… see last slide for evidence 🙈😏.

Still cutting oversize cause my Jesus keeps supplying fabric ….
This is everything I wore as a costume designer on a music video set for 3 days this week .

Day 1/3 …

BG: HOD is it that my own eyes don’t see these kinds of clothes in the market? Cause where do you buy your clothes from ?

-he was referring to my tshirt 😅

Day 2/3…

Pulled up in my @aquesto_dapper waistcoat and was constantly threatened to be robbed of it on set ..

My “team Jesus” pin was gotten from @andrafen.emporium

And I moulded and made my earrings myself 🥰

Day 3/3….

I stole this shirt from ẹgbọn mi @taiwoaiyedogbon , belt and jeans from eko market

Converse from my Yahyha @dressmyalterego ❤️❤️

Looks like that @danglifestyle_ face moisturiser is working after all 😏 by @temi_ami
