👼 SMALL FACES. BIG PERSONALITIES. FUTURE BAR STAFF.

Before they were serving you at Temper & Brown, this lot were serving looks for the family camera. And what looks they were…

🩷 The striped jumper: a smile that says “I’ve been good all day” and a DVD collection ready to challenge Blockbuster.

🎁 The toy-opening scene: an early introduction to deliveries. Back then, opening the boxes was considerably more exciting.

🖤 The black jacket and sideways glance: already giving “Who ordered the complicated cocktail five minutes before closing?”

🎀 The pink coat in the grand dining room: dressed for afternoon tea, with the unmistakable air of someone about to ask for the manager.

📸 The family studio portrait: coordinated outfits, proper posing and Mum making sure everyone behaved. We could use her on a Saturday shift.

⚓ The baby in the sailor-style outfit: ready to captain the ship. First challenge: staying awake through the briefing.

😁 The enormous grin: the face you make when someone says, “There’s cake.” Some things never change.

Now, dear customer: which cherub became which member of staff? 🕵️

Grill Night is now every Tuesday at Temper & Brown, courtesy of Michael and Leroy from the Allendale Café. Come hungry, bring your favourite people, and let the grill do the talking.

Meet Josh, one of the newest members of the Temper & Brown team.

Arms folded. Hat perfectly positioned. Quietly serving “too cool for school” without appearing to make the slightest effort.

Fortunately, beneath all that effortless cool is a thoroughly agreeable chap friendly, helpful and seemingly incapable of being anything other than lovely.

Tried out Temper & Brown in Birmingham! We got the salt fish fritters + Trini doubles 🇹🇹🤤

They’ve got a lovely outdoor space too, perfect for an after-work catch up, and their Friday happy hour runs from 5–9pm 🍹

Definitely one to add to the list if you fancy some good food and a few drinks after work ✨

Have you discovered this hidden gem in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter yet? @temperandbrown

Temper & Brown is an independent, family-owned pub bringing British and Jamaican culture together, serving Caribbean food, cocktails, craft beers and all the relaxed vibes of a proper local.

🎣 We tried the saltfish fritters (£9) that were fluffy and non greasy, they felt like a savoury cloud.
🐔 Grilled boneless chicken thigh (£17.50) was juicy, beautifully seasoned and served with rice.
🍛 The curry mutton (£19.75) was rich, tender and seriously flavourful, with generous pieces of mutton in every bite.
🧀 Jerk chicken mac and cheese (£15.25) was creamy, smoky and packed with jerk flavour. Easily one of the best mac and cheeses I’ve had in YEARS!
🍟 And the perfectly seasoned cajun fries (£5.50)

The portions were seriously generous, every plate was packed with Caribbean flavour and had that comforting, homemade feel. And we even met the chef… absolute legend🕺🏾

🍸 For drinks, we had the Power Puff Martini
and the Mango Moon mocktail. Really fruity, we loved them.

And when the weekend hits, Temper & Brown really comes alive: open mic nights on some Fridays, DJs and live music across Friday and Saturday. Great music, cool people and always a good vibe!
