After three years of not believing I was ready and giving love to all the aspects of me who needed reassurance before I could birth it into the world, my first single is now yours to cocreate with and make it your own.

In a world of AI music and instantaneous creation, I pray you will appreciate the labor of grief and love it took me and the angels who worked alongside me on this song for it to exist now in its final form.

This single is the soundtrack of my great reveal as a singer-songwriter, after many lives, various artistic paths and a five year-long spiritual entrepreneurship journey, like Coelho's alchemist I now return home to discover that my soul's treasure was there all along.

A few days ago I woke up with this song in my head. I didn’t listen to it for years so I took it as a sign to make it my next cover.

As a writer+ singer first I always appreciate when lyrics are thoughtfully painting poetic images that easily unfold in the mind’s eye.

This song very much does that.

At last. A kamale ngoni-voice cover of the Unforgiven III by Metallica.

UGH this song. I don’t know how many times teenage me has blasted her ears with it, curled up on her bed, tormented by too many questions without answers and grief contacting her chest.

How long we’ve come little me and I. I am grateful for musicians like Metallica who’ve carried me through life.

This take ain’t perfect but I could feel myself spiraling into perfectionism so I just stopped and shared. Cause sharing is the point, not fake ass perfection.

I mean I just love their universe, their music and have seen them live countless times. Opeth just speaks to my soul. If you listen to Opeth: what are your favorite albums ?

Mine: Damnation, Deliverance (i got the CDs from way back, they took a turn in my high school group of friends hihi), Heritage and Sorceress (got the collector vinyl with the peacock feather pen, CD, psychedelic print in a wooden box and shit 😌).

Something peculiar is happening to me these past weeks. I realized how the covers I intuitively choose and their lyrics have been mirroring my life experiences…

A big theme for me recently have been claiming my power back. Realizing in an even deeper way that no matter what is going on in my outside circumstances I can still walk the path my soul chose for myself.

In fact, at this stage of my life, my soul path seems to be the only one possible. I burned all my bridges this year to be able to sing for you, my beloveds.

The wild can mean many different things.

They are layers of pain, grief and stupor unfolding in the world right now.

I certainly feel it both in my personal life and by simply witnessing the circus.

It takes conscious effort to fixate on love, integrity and gratitude in the moments where everything seems to go downhill.

Honestly that is the only song of this band that I really vibed to when I was way younger. Growing up in a family where everything was taboo, this song somehow felt sexy and edgy. And it definitely soundtracked my goth era 🦇🌹

This song is very dear to me and speaks of universal human hybris and polarity in a gorgeous way that has always entranced me.

Celebrating getting my voice back after a kinda nasty flu which got me atone and coughing blood.

I am grateful for my health and my voice being back to the fullest.

A kamale ngoni-voice cover of Oroborus by the progressive death metal band Gojira.

this song means the world for me. It has been the soundtrack of very heavy times. Now I listen to it and while still being true, the lyrics describe a different experience.

Music is alchemy and it’s even more magical when I share the values of the artists who created it. Which is the case with the Duplantier brothers.

The environment was hostile for this take (think an army of cocks shouting for domination, big winds and flies randomly landing on my arms and tickling the heck out of me. Vacations hiiii. )

For every less than three minutes reel, there are multiple takes, lots of laughter and frustration before I select one and post it.

Far from considering this take perfect, I offer it to you because it is satisfying enough, praying you’ll enjoy.

I am practicing more and more the art of being kind and magnanimous towards myself when it comes to creative endeavors.

Sharing my process with you all helps me see and hear the beauty in the imperfection. And I am grateful for that.
