When you’re down to your last Sunkist Fruit Gem and it’s also candy season…..What’s a Shul to do? by @templeshirtikva
Thank you, Pam Schuller, for filling Temple Shir Tikva with laughter, learning, and inclusion! Pam shared her journey from a teen with the worst diagnosed case of Tourette Syndrome in the country to an internationally known disability and mental health advocate and stand-up comedian. Her stories were powerful, a little heart-wrenching, and unapologetically funny. We laughed, we reflected, and we left thinking about how to make our community even more welcoming for everyone. Thank you to all who joined us! by @templeshirtikva
Temple Shir Tikva will welcome Pam Schuller, an internationally known disability and mental health advocate and professional stand-up comedian, for a weekend of programming October 16–18. The weekend includes an intergenerational dinner and conversation, an evening comedy show, and a program for parents on failure and resilience. As a teenager, Schuller had the most severe diagnosed case of Tourette Syndrome in the country, along with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and a great deal of pent-up anger. She spent years depressed, wishing her differences away. Over time, she began to see her life differently, and the obstacles she once fought became the fuel that drives her work today. On stage and in workshops, Schuller tells stories of growing up in a body she could not control. Those stories are engaging, powerful, a little heart-wrenching, and unapologetically funny. We are thrilled to welcome Pam Schuller for a weekend full of laughs, learning, and inclusion. As a teen, Pamela Schuller had the worst diagnosed case of Tourette Syndrome in the country, a touch of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and a whole lot of pent-up anger. She spent years depressed and wishing her differences away. Over time, she started looking at her life differently and turned her obstacles and challenges into the very fuel that propels her. Now an internationally known disability and mental health advocate and professional stand-up comedian, Pamela’s stories of growing up in a body she had no control over are engaging, powerful, a little bit heart-wrenching, and unapologetically funny. As we approach the Israeli elections, many are suggesting that this is an existential election the result of which will determine Israel’s future not just for the 4 years that follow, but indefinitely. What are the key issues as Israel prepares to go to the polls? Will Bibi Netanyahu retain the Premiership? What are the experts predicting? Can anyone form a majority? How does the country divide into different tribes and parties? Please register! https://www.shirtikva.org/israel-votes/ by @templeshirtikva
