~TEMPO REFORMER X CHILDHOOD DEMENTIA INITIATIVE FUNDRAISER~

This November, we’re taking Tempo outside for a very special morning of movement, community and fundraising in support of @childhooddementia .

Childhood Dementia Initiative is an Australian charity working to transform the lives of children living with dementia and their families. Childhood dementia is caused by more than 145 rare genetic conditions, and children progressively lose skills they have already developed, including the ability to talk, walk and play.

Founded in 2020 by Megan Maack, whose own two children have Sanfilippo syndrome, Megan brings both lived experience and professional expertise to driving awareness, research, better care and policy change for children with dementia.

Join us for a 50 minute Pilates Matwork session on the grass at Freshwater Reserve...

✨ Sunday 22nd November
✨ 7.30 to 9.30am
✨ $40 a ticket with the option to donate further if you wish
✨ Freshwater Beach Reserve, just behind the Surfclub on the grass
✨Please bring a beach towel, water bottle & a big smile ready to feel the burn

We’ll move together, enjoy beautiful Freshwater, and then head to @nalu.syd for a hot coffee provided for all participants!

And because we all love a little extra…

🎁 Every participant will receive a gift bag, filled with amazing goodies and donations from our incredible local and national partners, including @fundaysweets @surgebathhouse @trueprotein and more (plus a Reformer class at Tempo Seaforth or Freshwater!).

Most importantly, 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to Childhood Dementia Initiative.

~Connie is Back~

After an extended holiday, Connie is back on the timetable, and her teaching is going from strength to strength.

After completing her Tempo Teaching under the watchful eye of our head trainer Kate, she’s proving to be a seriously impressive teacher, with a brilliant eye for technique, a calm confidence in the room and, most importantly… she really knows how to bring the burn. 🔥

Starting tomorrow, you can catch Connie at Freshwater in the evening, where you can grab a $20 Thursday Night Lights Pass Class.

You can also book a class with Connie…

🤍 Sunday morning at Seaforth
🤍 Monday morning at Freshwater

If you haven’t taken a class with Connie yet, this is your sign to book in. We know you’ll going to love her. 👏🏼

~Member of the Month~

This month at Tempo, we’re celebrating the wonderful Irene 🤍

A busy working mum who juggles all the things; work, family, life and everything in between, while still making time to prioritise herself.

Irene is in the studio three times a week and we love that she understands something so important: looking after yourself isn’t selfish, it’s part of being able to show up for everything else.

Irene continued her Tempo practice throughout her most recent pregnancy, moving with her body and adapting when she needed to. And as soon as she was cleared to exercise postpartum, she came straight back and trusted us to help her rebuild her strength, confidence and connection with her body.

There’s no rushing your postpartum journey at tempo , no pressure and no expectation to “bounce back”, just consistent movement, patience and trusting the process.

Irene, you are such a beautiful example of what we mean when we say Tempo is for every body, every stage and every season of life. 🫶🏼

We’re so proud of you and so grateful to have you as part of our Tempo Seaforth community.

~You are ready!!~

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is, “I’m too unfit for Pilates.”

But that’s exactly why you start.

You don’t need to have a strong core.
You don’t need to know what you’re doing.
You don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need to have exercised for years.

You just need to walk through the door.

Reformer Pilates can be adapted to where your body is today, and then, over time, you build strength, control, mobility and confidence.

Your first class might feel challenging. That’s okay.
You might not know all the exercises. That’s okay too.
You might need to take a break, modify a movement or work at your own pace. That’s exactly what your body needs.

The goal isn’t to be fit enough to start.

Starting at Tempo is how you get fitter.

~98 Games Competition~

4 mums. 11 kids. 20 teams. 5th place. 🏆

And quite possibly the oldest team by about 10 years 😂

Myself and three friends took on the 98 Games at the weekend and absolutely proved that getting older does NOT have to mean getting less fit, less strong or less capable.

Because your fitness doesn’t have an expiry date.

The secret? Consistency. Effort. And Reformer Pilates as the backbone of everything I do.

Reformer Pilates gives you the foundation: strength, control, mobility, stability and body awareness. Then I take that strength beyond the studio and into whatever challenge comes next.

Thankful for this body of mine for always showing up 🖤💪🏻👯👯

~Base Tempo~

Base Tempo is our beginner-style class where we use easy-to-follow layers, giving everyone the opportunity to choose their level and work within their own body and ability.

And that’s what we love about all the classes at Tempo…..Tonight, we had a teen member exercising alongside a member in her late 60s; different demographic, experience and ability, but moving together in the same room. 🤍

No pressure to keep up. No one-size-fits-all approach. Just great movement, an awesome workout and the freedom to work at your level.

~Five Reasons You Should Do Pilates at Tempo If You’re Pregnant~

Pregnancy is a time of HUGE change, and your movement practice should change with you. 💕

At Tempo, we will help you keep moving safely and confidently throughout your pregnancy. And then support you on your return to exercise after your baby comes 👶🏻

#pregnant #baby #prenatalpilates #prenatalexercise
@alicecombertodd

Pregnancy isn’t the time for a one-size-fits-all approach. Our teachers can modify exercises, positioning, resistance and intensity as your pregnancy progresses.

You’re not lost in a room of 20+ people or banished to a pre-natal only class!! Our teachers know you, your body and your stage of pregnancy, so you get the guidance and modifications you need.

As your bump grows and your posture, balance and centre of gravity shift, building and maintaining strength can help you stay strong, mobile and confident throughout your pregnancy, while preparing your body for the physical demands of motherhood.

Regular, appropriately modified exercise during pregnancy can support physical fitness and pelvic floor function, which may contribute to positive birth outcomes and help support your body’s recovery after birth.

Pregnancy is not about chasing PRs or pushing your body to its limits. It’s about staying active in a way that feels good for your body at each stage of pregnancy. Maintaining movement, strength, mobility and stability can help you feel more comfortable and confident as your body changes. At Tempo, we focus on adapting your workout as your pregnancy progresses; knowing when to challenge you, when to modify an exercise and when to simply listen to what your body is telling you. by @temporeformerpilates

~Why Choose Tempo~

The exercises you won’t see in a room full of 20+ reformer beds. 👀

At Tempo, we believe Pilates should be safely effective, layered and individualised (where needed) so everyone in the room can achieve, progress and be challenged at their own level.

Our small-group classes mean your teacher knows you, your body and your ability.

They know when you’re ready to progress.
They know when you need to modify.
And they know how to challenge you without compromising your technique.

Because you’re not just one of 20+ people working through the same reformer foundations every class.

Our programming is designed to elevate your practice; with exercises, progressions and challenges that simply aren’t possible when one teacher is trying to manage a massive room full of reformer beds with people with wildly differing abilities!

Small groups. Individual attention. Smarter programming. Better progression.

This is Pilates designed to meet you where you are….and take you further. 🤍

(❤️💙 spring)
