What an unforgettable day at the Tenacity Cup! 🎾 More than $900,000 raised — and donations are still coming in!

30 Tenacity students were excited to spend the day learning, playing, and connecting with tennis champions @thechandarubin and Rick Leach!🎾🔥
Our students played alongside these tennis legends, picked up tips, asked questions, and experienced firsthand what’s possible when you combine tennis, mentorship, and opportunity.

We were also inspired by Lindsey Keeler, CEO of @ustanewengland who shared why tennis is experiencing such incredible momentum right now — and why there’s no better time to pick up a racket.

We were also proud to be joined by Kristin McSwain, Chief of Policy and Research for @mayorwu, who spoke to the importance of Tenacity’s mission and our shared commitment to building a brighter future for Boston’s youth.

A huge THANK YOU to Longwood Cricket Club for hosting us, and everyone who made the Tenacity Cup possible, including our speakers, volunteers, donors, and the entire Tenacity community.

And a special shoutout to @jorgehquiroga and Bob Halloran for bringing their energy and humor to our lunch panel!

TENACITY’S OPEN EXPERIENCE: MEMORIES TO LAST A LIFETIME! ✨🎾
Thanks to an incredible opportunity through the USTA Foundation for NJTLs, 12 young tennis players ages 8–13 from Boston, Chelsea, and Worcester got to experience the magic of the US Open! 🙌
The adventure started with a night together and some fun in Times Square and Central Park! 🗽🌆
Then it was on to the US Open! Tenacity students enjoyed complimentary grounds passes and got to rally on court before a special moment for Tenacity student Dilmer Bonilla-Velazquez, who participated in the coin toss on Court 17! 🪙🎾👏 Then students
had the chance to watch some of the world’s best, including Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, Iga Świątek, Ben Shelton, Andrey Rublev, and Daniil Medvedev. 🤩
More than a day at the US Open, this was an opportunity to dream bigger, feel inspired, and see what’s possible on and off the court.

Serve. Learn. Grow. 🎾💰

Join us for Chase Return the Serve, a FREE community event where youth can sharpen their tennis skills, play exciting games, and build confidence both on and off the court! Along with fun on the courts, participants will take part in a Financial Literacy Workshop to learn real-world money skills that can last a lifetime, presented by Chase!

This week, over 120 Summer Tennis & Reading Program (STRP) staff came together for a 3-day training to prepare for the citywide kickoff on Monday, July 6th! 🎾📚

Senior, junior, full-time staff, and volunteers all came together to train side by side in a joint effort to get ready for the thousands of students who will join Tenacity this summer at 20 neighborhood learning sites.

Together, they’ll help Boston, Worcester, and Chelsea build racket skills, grow in literacy, stay active, and most importantly — have fun all summer long.

Thank you to @ustanewengland @ustafoundation @bostonparksdept and many of you for your support!

A huge shoutout to our longtime Summer Tennis & Reading Program legend, Ken! 🎾📚

Ken has been part of Tenacity since 1999, first as a participant in our program and then as a Tenacity staffer. He’s the heart and soul of STRP and we’re so grateful for everything he’s contributed over the years to keep the program running smoothly.

Now, even with a full-time role outside of Tenacity, Ken still comes back every summer to keep things running behind the scenes so thousands of Boston kids can enjoy tennis and reading.

Ken, we couldn’t do it without you!
