Eudaimonia:
from Ancient Greek:
eu=good, well
daimōn=guiding spirit or inner divine nature

For Aristotle, eudaimonia was the highest aim of human life. Not pleasure. Not comfort.

It means flourishing through living in accordance with one’s true nature and virtues.

At the beginning of the year I journaled my intentions:
To live with…
Less fear.
Less striving.
More alignment.
More gratitude.
More truth.
More love.

A third of the year is gone (unbelievable!) and my life feels completely different. The choices, boundaries, and disciplines I was unsteady with in the past are now deeply rooted in my being.

The word eudaimonia has been a guidepost through the noise. I hope you find it useful. 💕🙏💕

I videotaped this to check my posture and thought it might be worth sharing. Not to show what proper form looks like, but to share that showing up on the mat through life’s ups and downs, and meeting yourself where you are at, physically and mentally, is a gift for yourself.

Daylight Savings Dilemma

Wake up thinking it’s at least 6:00 but it’s only 4:00 and should feel like it’s 3:00. Get up at 5 because you cant sleep. Have a double shot if espresso and two hours later have another because now you’re committed. 1 pm feels like 6 pm so have another since it’s before 2pm which is your cut off. Take a nap because you’re not gonna make it. Wake up and have dinner at 3:30 because it feels like 7:30 which doesn’t make any sense since you sprung forward an hour and it really should just feel like 2:30 in the afternoon. Decide at 4:30. You’re gonna get ready for bed, but change your mind and you sit on the porch for another half an hour before you come in to het ready for bed at 6:30 because it feels like 10:30 which still doesn’t make sense to you, but you know you have to wake up at 4:30 tomorrow.
