No doubt this bike was built to rip off-road but it’s still pretty quick on the tight mountain roads of Southern Spain 🇪🇸

It’s no super sport bike but it holds its own.. even with 50/50 tires

YAMAHA TÉNÉRÉ 4 CONCEPT: NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED OR MAYBE YES! 🏍️

Yesterday in Milan, Yamaha surprised everyone with the new Ténéré 4 Concept.

While many of us were expecting a Ténéré 900 powered by the CP3 engine, Yamaha went in the opposite direction, presenting a single-cylinder adventure bike.

But is this actually a bad move?

The market is increasingly focused on lightweight adventure bikes, with models like the CFMOTO 450MT, KTM 390 Adv R and KOVE 450 Rally and similar ones gaining attention.

A single-cylinder engine could mean less weight, simpler mechanics and potentially lower maintenance costs. But the real question is: what will the final specifications look like?

Personally, I'd still love to see a Ténéré 900 with the CP3 engine, but this new direction could be exactly what the adventure market needs.

One thing is certain: it's still a concept, and there's a lot we don't know yet.

So, what would you choose?

Let's discuss it! 👇

Yamaha might finally be building the Ténéré a lot of us have been asking for. 👀🏍️

Meet the new Yamaha Ténéré 4, or T4 for short.

The smaller Ténéré is expected to land somewhere around the 400 to 450cc class, and as someone who owns a Ténéré 700, this has my attention.

I love my T7.

But when the trail gets rough, there’s no pretending a 700cc adventure bike is small.

Full production specs for the Yamaha Ténéré 4 still aren’t confirmed, so take the numbers floating around for the T4 and Ténéré 450 with a grain of salt for now.

But the idea is what has me interested.

If Yamaha can keep the things that make the T7 so good…

21/18 wheels
Real off-road suspension
Simple electronics
Good reliability
Proper ADV capability

…and put all of that into a genuinely lightweight 400 to 450cc adventure bike?

That could be seriously good.

Because I’m starting to think the ADV world doesn’t always need more horsepower.

Sometimes we just need less motorcycle.

Less weight.
Less bulk.
Less wrestling when the trail turns ugly.

More confidence.
More fun.
More places you’re actually willing to take it.

A Yamaha Ténéré 4, T4, Ténéré 450, whatever you want to call it, could fill a pretty big hole in Yamaha’s lineup.

So here’s the question:

Would you trade horsepower for a lighter Ténéré?

And send this to the buddy who still insists their 500-pound ADV bike “feels light once it’s moving.” 😂👇

October was a great month of riding here in Southern Spain 🇪🇸

Unfortunately I think it’s probably my last October riding here. Really wanting to soak up some rides these next 11 months!
