Flicking rubber bands, pushing a balloon upwards between two bodies and climbing through increasingly tight spaces. These are just a few examples of the playful explorations by solo trapeze artists @johannes_mach and @26_jbg. Last Friday, we got a glimpse of this Maker for a Week project "Project A2' at Theater De Landing, our co-production partner. Together, they climb onto the trapeze and share its confined space - playfully and skilfully, leaving plenty of room for improvisation while taking on physically demanding sequences.
•

This week, @johannes_mach and @26_jbg are working in the Studio of @theater_delanding as our second Maker for a Week. "We share a strong passion for trapeze and rigging, but take different approaches to our work. Whereas during our studies we mainly worked solo, afterwards we developed a desire to approach the trapeze together: not as an individual instrument, but as a shared space for interaction and dialogue. Project A2 is a movement-based research project exploring how two performers can share the limited space of a trapeze."
•
