This Poem is called “Sounds” ✨
.
It was my way of processing experiencing discrimination at an “inclusive” theatre company that works with children and young people.
I was employed because I had experience of migration, and most of the participants were migrants themselves, yet in a feedback session me and my colleague were told: “You have an accent, and it’s hard to understand you sometimes”.
I couldn’t express into words for a few months how much this experience has affected my mental health, but also how poorly it was dealt with when I opened up to her about it… but after sharing this with friends (thanks for listening to my hurt soul 🫶🏼), sessions over sessions in therapy and time (time’s a healer)…this poem poured out of me and arrived just like this 🙃
.
I’ve been using poetry as a tool to process and heal from moments of being hurt and from traumas… and the way this poem always picks me up when I’m down is a gift I’ll always be grateful for! 🧡 above all I’ve got myself ✨
.
Nobody’s perfect, everyone makes mistakes, but it’s actually how we own up to our mistakes and learn to be more aware and kinder towards one another that makes a difference! ✨
.
I hope you enjoy it! ✨

🧡 36 books SOLD in 2 months 🧡🥺
.
From the bottom of my heart…Thank You 🙏🏼🥺🫂😭
To every person that has bought my book so far, that has celebrated this huge achievement with me, that has been cheering my journey as a poet, and also as an artist…GRATITUDE ✨
.
I honestly don’t have words to describe what a special, emotional, spontaneous journey “Through The Fire, Beyond The Ashes” has been, and the people that it has connected me to, are now holding a special place in my heart 🫂
.
This book is about my journey, about healing in the form of words that rhyme, that collide, that get placed and rearranged to translate and trace the experiences that I needed to face the most 😌
.
If you want to get your copy, DM me and let’s get you paired up 👀
.
Big Phoenix love,
Teonix 🧡
