It’s been one week since Let Loose! premiered in Ōtautahi and I am still feeling the joy of getting to perform in my home town with whānau, friends and complete strangers. The second @humblecowboyproductions creation makes me so hype for what we’ll explore in the future

This is the first professional thing I’ve made that’s ‘mine’ and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the following:
@big_fish_curry & @tom__webster for assuring me that this idea has legs
@gisele_proud for handling my big tech asks with so much kindness (and listen to me talk about how nervous I was)
@_shannon_grxce_ & @manootnoot.rainey for your excellent mahi on art and beyond
@itsmevikkiva for your fire audio assistance
My whānau for housing us while we were down and finally @tinyfestivalchch for accepting us in the first place ♥️🙌
A huge thanks to all the people that came through as guinea pigs during the process as well, means the world to me

Oi Fred! was my directing debut. Incredibly grateful for this tīma and every single person that supported, gave advice, donated and came to watch the show. Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa ♥️

An especially big thank you to @no3roskill for allowing us to rehearse in your space and to @basementspace for accepting @tom__webster and I’s submission for this “kinda weird, kinda heavy” show. We couldn’t have done it without the support and belief of these two awesome groups.

It’s only up from here 🫡🔥 taken in Basement Theatre by @tep_atto

Mānawatia a Matariki! ✨ Next up in our Matariki series is Tane Te Pakeke-Patterson, actor, director, teaching artist and producer.

This year, Tane is setting the intention to slow down. He’s reflecting on the knowledge shared by his mentors to thoughtfully map his path forward, and staying warm this winter with his flatties 🤎

“There’s all this history… but there’s also me and you.”

After two seasons in Ōtautahi and a festival in Italy, Humble Cowboy Productions is extremely proud to present E Ipo, My Love’s Tāmaki debut 🔥

Tane & Gisele are like many couples in this country. They love one another, fight for one another, and enjoy spending their lives together, but the history of Aotearoa is never too far behind them. E Ipo, My Love is an honest and heartfelt tale of a Māori and Pākehā couple in 21st-century Aotearoa. Bring your lover, your partner, or your situationship along to enjoy Tane & Gisele as they navigate the ups and downs of their relationship from first contact to final moments.

E Ipo, My Love | Basement Theatre Studio | 10-14 March | 6:30pm | Tickets from $8 each

E Ipo, My Love was created in collaboration with the Isaac Theatre Royal and the Hagley Theatre School Six-Month Theatre Creation Course under the mentorship and direction of Dr Pedro Ilgenfritz. taken in Basement Theatre by @tep_atto

E IPO MY LOVE ♥️

For the majority of 2025, my creative work revolved around one project, E Ipo My Love. Writing and creating this show with @tep_atto has been a joy, I am so grateful to have been able to create this story and learn so much together. The mentorship and direction from @ilgenfritzpedro at the @hagleytheatreschool was instrumental in E Ipo My Love’s creation and I am so grateful for all the support we received from the HTS whānau while here in Ōtautahi. We have been so lucky to work with so many amazing creatives on this show, from the amazing team from our residency and first season at the @isaactheatreroyal, to our return fundraiser season at @littleandromedachch and of course the opportunity to travel to ITALY and share our first international performance with the beautiful people at L’Arlecchino Errante Festa Internazionale Del Teatro Vivo @arlecchino_errante. And as for the future…well let’s just say that we have something exciting cooking with @humblecowboyproductions for 2026!👀 There is truely no way to encapsulate all of the joy, gratitude and pride I feel!! Thank you thank you thank you!!🫶
