Monday, September 29th, 2025

It’s been 2 weeks without you Angie and the house feels empty without you. Angie had congested heart failure for the past two years until it finally got worse this past summer. Her condition became recurrent and she was admitted to the hospital. Later, when getting discharged she was prescribed 7 medications and we were told it wasn’t much longer left. A smol girl like you didn’t deserve to have to take 7 different medications and your quality of life was so sad to see.

Only 4 days after the hospital, on her final day by our side, she showed us signs. She was always closest to our dad so she used the last bit of energy she had left and jumped on our dad’s bed for the last time. She refused medications and didn’t want to eat until it was finally ready for her to say goodbye to us.

Angie, we will never forget you as one of our family dogs. We had you when you were just a smol little baby, you were so fiesty as any chihuahua would be, but so lovable. You had the funniest little growl if we ever picked you up and you always gave love to anyone who came over. You had the cutest lion mane, a little diamond on your head, and heart shape on your side and we will always cherish the memories we had with you. We are glad you are no longer in pain and can now rest in peace.

Reunited in heaven within ten days of each other, our ông ngoại passed away on January 24th, 2025, and our bà ngoại followed on February 3rd, 2025. Before we could even finish shedding our tears for ông ngoại, our bà ngoại sensed something was missing and chose to join him. We never imagined losing both of you so close together.

During this time, we’ve found ourselves reflecting on cherished memories—old photos, videos, and even voicemails. Our ông ngoại was a man of few words, but he always greeted us warmly when we visited. You could often be found glued to the TV, tending to the garden, or wandering outside. You loved to drive and played Trish for us kids. You were fearless, always on alert for potential intruders, shirtless with a hammer in hand, ready to protect the family. You were forgetful when it came to your belongings, often blaming others, but we could never hold it against you. You worked so hard to bring our family to America, and now, you deserve to finally rest. We hope you’re enjoying the DVDs we packed with you.

Our bà ngoại showered us with love, especially us grandchildren. She loved cooking for us and could always be seen harvesting fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden. No other food compares to yours, and we continue to crave and miss your cooking. You always insisted we come over, walking us out to our cars and calling to ensure we got home safely. You memorized my phone number, and if I didn’t answer, you left a voicemail. I’ll forever be grateful to hear your voice through these voicemails from before your health declined. You were there for all the milestones in our lives—from our first communion to confirmation to graduations—and you watched us grow up with love.

I will continue to pray for both of you and keep you in my heart. I’ll think of you when a Trish song plays, when we enjoy certain foods, and when we visit your house. I hope you both are at peace, free of pain, and feel the warmth of our love and thoughts. We will always love and miss you, ông ngoại and bà ngoại. 🤍🌹🕊️ by @teresaaaha
