CTB ‘26

Camp to Belong a camp for separated siblings in the foster care system. A whole week spent with their siblings creating memories they miss out on. Things that you take for granted without even realizing that.

As someone who grew up in foster care, especially being separated from my sibling I understand them very much. It’s very tough not being able to spend moments like your birthday with them. That’s our focus during this whole week to make sure they can create a meaningful connection and memory with them.

For 8 years I have been going to this camp, it’s my second home. I couldn’t imagine a summer without being there. God called me to this because he knew that someone like myself would be able to speak volumes into these kids and remind them that you have to stay true to yourself and that it is not your fault you are here. Foster care is not easy whatsoever I’ve lived many many lives being in foster care but it’s what you take with you as you get older.

So for that, Thank you to the kids for allowing me to let my walls down around you and be there for you in every capacity. Thank you to my team who was supportive of me and uplifted me throughout the week. Thank you to the counselors who dedicated a week of their lives to these kids, they will never forget that.
