POSTS STORIES REELS

We are pleased to share the initial 2026 schedule for Tergar International’s online events with Mingyur Rinpoche and Tergar lamas—accessible to participants anywhere in the world.

The coming year offers rich opportunities for both new and long-time students through a variety of online teachings. Highlights include the reading transmission and teachings on the Third Karmapa’s Mahamudra Aspiration Prayer with Rinpoche this April, as well as two Anytime Anywhere Meditation workshops—rare opportunities to receive these foundational meditation instructions directly from Rinpoche, wherever you live.

The 2026 schedule also includes the second Blueprints of Awakening retreat with Khenpo Kunga, followed by the third and concluding retreat led by Rinpoche, both available online. In addition, Rinpoche will lead the opening and second retreats of a new year-long transmission, sharing the Dzogchen teachings of the Dorje Drolö treasure lineage revealed by the first Mingyur Dorje.

While additional events are still being confirmed, we wanted to share these key dates so you can plan ahead. Many events will offer live interpretation in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish—please check individual event pages for details.

We hope you can join us online for what promises to be a truly meaningful year, wherever you are in the world.

People often ask why they should meditate.

Generally, we identify so thoroughly with our emotional patterns and habitual thoughts that we come to think of them as “me.” We confine ourselves to fixed thoughts of “this is who I am.” We aren’t satisfied with our life, yet we suppress our capacity for change.

To move beyond these self-imposed limits, we need to let go of our habitual ways of taking our human qualities and circumstances for granted.

Meditation is the most effective tool to do this 🪷

The more we practice, the more we grow confident in our abilities to break free from habit, suffering, and the endless cycle of samsara. We start small: making a commitment to do a little practice, everyday.

📌 If you’re looking for a place to begin, the free Anytime, Anywhere Meditation Course in the Joy of Living app has eleven lessons to get you started.

Try this: don’t think about oranges.

What happened? 🍊

That’s aversion. The more we push something away, the more it insists on staying. And craving works the opposite way. Lie in bed telling yourself “I need sleep,” and sleep slips further out of reach.

What we chase seems to vanish. What we resist keeps returning.

Here, Mingyur Rinpoche explains how both come from the same root: ignorance. That means the mind grasping at things as if they were permanent, independent, and singular, when they’re not.

Seeing this clearly is where freedom begins 🪷 by @tergaronline

How might our relationship with death shape the way we live?

In a conversation with @drcortlanddahl, @joanhalifax draws on decades of accompanying people at the end of life to explore what it means to meet impermanence with courage, compassion, and an open heart.

Her insights invite us to look beyond our fear of death and consider how an awareness of our mortality might transform the way we care for one another, relate to our own experience, and make use of the time we have.

📌 This conversation is part of Vajrayana’s Online’s immersion on the bardo teachings: a nine-month long journey with Mingyur Rinpoche, Lama Trinley and special guest teachers (November 2026 - July 2027). Join us via the link in our stories. by @tergaronline

We spend so much energy trying to fix ourselves.

In this short teaching, Mingyur Rinpoche shares what the Buddha emphasised near the end of his life: that every one of us, equally, has this innate goodness. Suffering is real, but it sits on the surface. Beneath it is a nature that is whole, wonderful and intact. In Buddhism, this is what’s called the “ultimate truth”.

Learn about this concept, and more, in Rinpoche’s latest Monthly Teaching, “Buddhism For Beginners” now live on our YouTube Channel 🪷

Whenever negative emotions arise — be it panic, anxiety or worry — our first instinct is often to push them away, hoping they will disappear. Yet, as Mingyur Rinpoche explains in this teaching, our fear of these emotions, and our attempts to get rid of them, can actually intensify the very symptoms we seek to overcome.

Drawing on his own experience of panic attacks as a child, he shares how, through practice and meditation, he learned to transform his relationship with panic.

How can we remain grounded and open-hearted, and respond with wisdom when faced with life’s unexpected challenges?

Lojong, or mind training, is a practical, centuries-old Buddhist set of instructions for transforming our habitual ways of relating to difficult emotions and stress into the path of awakening. First introduced to Tibet by Lord Atisha Dipankara in the 11th century and later organized by Geshe Chekawa into The Seven Points of Mind Training, the teachings of lojong are distilled into fifty-nine concise and incredibly practical slogans that help us weave awareness, loving-kindness, and wisdom directly into whatever we may encounter in modern life.

On October 18, join our worldwide Vajrayana Online community for a daylong online retreat with Tergar guides Kasumi Kato and Tim Olmsted. Together, we will explore many of these slogans, such as “Be grateful to everyone,” “When the world is filled with evil, transform all mishaps into the path of bodhi,” and “Don’t ponder others.”

Through teachings, guided meditations, Q&A, and group discussions, we will learn how to practice with the slogans during difficult circumstances and unexpected moments.

If you are studying the bardos, taking part in the Dorje Drolö Dzogchen Immersion, or just beginning your journey with us, Atisha’s lojong offers a rich complement to your path. We warmly invite you to join us for this day of practice and connection with the Vajrayana Online community.
