A week ago I celebrated 45 orbits around the sun. Capped off that week by throwing myself the party of my dreams. I don’t dream in pomp and circumstance. Backdrops or mounds of balloons. I dream in love. Of beautiful spaces. Of perfectly curated vibes. Good food. Palatable energy. Smiles. Laughter. The perfect blend of family and friends. This was all that and then some.
I’m thankful for those able to make it to join in the celebration. Those unable to attend, the love was felt and still is. To my curators, @lemonloftla provided the perfect space and allowing me to bring in art from home. Shout out to @stuckeywriter and @spaceshipgeorge. @openfacegrill and @kyalou set the mood and kept the vibes high, @dinendeena and @nigelwithdknife added the flavor with delicious bites, thank you for sharing your gifts with us and setting off the experience. Tap in with these folks.

This one hurts

When I was in high school, my dad bought me a copy of Black Feeling Black Talk Black Judgement. He wrote an inscription on the title page that I can’t remember. I let a family friend borrow the book and I never saw it again. This feels like that. Like a person you love died after you lost something precious they gave you. She was precious.
