TERN is pleased to return to FUZE Caribbean Art Fair for its fourth edition, taking place October 21–25, 2026, at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau, The Bahamas.

This year, we are delighted to bring together Melissa Alcena and Delton Barrett in a two-person presentation (Booth F13), alongside dedicated solo booths featuring April Bey (F12), Blue Curry (F34), and Steven Schmid (F10).

This year’s theme, "Coming Home", feels especially fitting as FUZE continues to create space for Caribbean artists and audiences to engage with one another here in Nassau. As a gallery rooted in The Bahamas, we’re pleased to see the fair continue to build momentum, bringing new audiences to the region and giving the work of Caribbean artists greater visibility on their own shores.

We look forward to sharing these presentations, reconnecting with familiar faces, and welcoming new ones.

We hope to see you there!

For more information about our presentations and available works, please email info@terngallery.com.

Anina Major’s practice is deeply informed by her relationship with The Bahamas, even as it considers the complexities of migration, distance, and belonging.

In SOON COME HOME, her second solo exhibition at TERN, Major brings these ongoing explorations home to Nassau. Through sculpture and installation, she draws on familiar materials and inherited making traditions, exploring the ways cultural memory is preserved, transformed, and carried across generations and geographies.

The exhibition continues at TERN through October 26, 2026. We warmly invite you to visit and experience the exhibition before it closes.

For more information about the exhibition and available works, visit the link in our bio or email info@terngallery.com.

A special moment for Anina Major, and for all of us at TERN.

Anina was the first artist we exhibited when TERN opened its doors in 2020. Six years later, following her second solo exhibition with us, SOON COME HOME, we are immensely proud to celebrate the opening of The Sacred Mangrove at Pérez Art Museum Miami, her most significant U.S. museum solo presentation to date and an important turning point in her practice.

Deeply rooted in The Bahamas and the cultural knowledge and material traditions that have long shaped Anina’s work, The Sacred Mangrove expands her practice across sculpture, architecture and landscape, considering the mangrove as a space of care and shared responsibility, and bringing questions of cultural and environmental stewardship into conversation with home, memory and belonging.

To have witnessed Anina’s practice grow over these years, and now to see a distinctly Bahamian perspective given space on a platform of this scale and significance, carries a particular meaning for us. We could not be prouder of her, or more grateful to have shared in the journey.

Congratulations, Anina. We look forward to celebrating with you in Miami, and to continuing the journey together at Art Basel Miami Beach this December.

Anina Major: The Sacred Mangrove is on view at @pamm through August 1, 2027.

In Mop Monsters Thrice, Tessa Whitehead’s loose, gestural forms move between vegetation and imagined beings, making the Bahamian bush feel both familiar and slightly strange.

This slippage between landscape and figure appears throughout Whitehead’s practice. Figures appear and disappear within Whitehead’s dense landscapes. Memory, intuition and relationships become entangled with the surrounding bush.

Today is the final day of Untitled Art Houston, and we’re so grateful for all the conversations and connections we’ve shared throughout the week. If you’re at the fair today, come spend some time with us at Booth C6 and see Mop Monsters Thrice and our full presentation before we close.

We’d love to see you. You can also explore the full presentation through the viewing room at the link in bio, or email info@terngallery.com for more information.

This week at Untitled Art Houston, we’ve had the pleasure of sharing Richard Nattoo’s work and introducing visitors to the richly imagined world that unfolds across it.

At the centre of Nattoo’s recent work is Jamaican Jonkonnu: a centuries-old masquerade tradition of music, dance, costume and performance. Rejecting the idea that Jonkonnu is dead, he imagines its spirits as sleeping, waiting to be found and reawakened within an expanding mythology he calls the “Majic World.”

The shrines that appear throughout these works give architectural form to that idea. Nattoo draws on disappearing features of Jamaican vernacular buildings, such as gable roofs, verandahs, fretwork and louvred windows, to create places for the spirits to dwell.

See these works and more by Richard Nattoo at Booth C6 through Sunday. Explore our full presentation through the viewing room at the link in bio, or email info@terngallery.com for more information.

With Untitled Art Houston now open to the public, we’re turning our attention to the individual works that shape our presentation at Booth C6.

In Marisa Willoughby-Holland’s The hours before dawn, 2026, a figure attempts to arrange night-opening lilies before they close, only for the flowers to continually fall from the vase. Their impermanence becomes a meditation on anxiety, control and mortality, contrasted with the lilies painted on the vase, permanently held in bloom.

Set inside the artist’s studio at dusk, the work brings Willoughby-Holland’s surroundings in Surrey into conversation with memories of Jamaica. A rug sourced in Kingston grounds the scene, while tropical plants, fireflies and a Jamaican moth evoke place, memory and spirits watching through the night.

See The hours before dawn at Untitled Art, Houston, now through Sunday. Explore our full presentation through the viewing room at the link in bio, or email info@terngallery.com for more information.

TERN returns to Untitled Art, Houston, October 2–4, for our second year at the fair. Following our participation in its inaugural Houston edition, we look forward to returning to the city with works by three artists from across the Caribbean.

This year, we present Richard Nattoo (Jamaica), Tessa Whitehead (The Bahamas), and Marisa Willoughby-Holland (Jamaica/UK), whose distinct practices find common ground in questions of memory, interiority, spirituality, and place.

Across their respective practices, the artists draw on personal histories, relationships, and their surrounding landscapes, moving between lived experience and broader questions of identity, belonging, and cultural memory.

Richard Nattoo (b. 1993, Spanish Town, Jamaica) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, and textile art. Influenced by his Jamaican heritage and connection to nature, his work explores identity, memory, and spirituality, employing storytelling as a central narrative device.

Tessa Whitehead (b. 1985, Nassau, The Bahamas) is a multi-media artist whose work is rooted in tropical and ancestral landscapes and the relationships formed within them. Her paintings, drawings and sculptures combine elements of the Bahamian landscape with surreal figures and familial portraits.

Marisa Willoughby-Holland (b. 1975, Jamaica) is an artist living and working primarily in the UK. An oil painter, her work draws on her life as a woman and mother, and memories and feelings from her past and present, including her childhood in Jamaica.

We look forward to welcoming you at Booth C6 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Kachelle Knowles and Gio Swaby approach portraiture from different directions but with a shared interest in expanding how Black subjects are represented. Through thread and fabric, Swaby celebrates Black womanhood, personal style and self-authorship; through graphite, Knowles makes room for vulnerability and fluidity within representations of Bahamian men.

Together, their works expand the possibilities of Black portraiture, centering tenderness, complexity and the freedom to define how one is seen.

We’re delighted to share this presentation in New York and look forward to welcoming you to Booth F8 throughout the fair. Come see us!
