👋 Hi, I’m Eddie. I noticed a bunch of new faces here recently so I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself officially. I’m an introvert who likes doing many things - photography, working out, basketball, reading, dancing and traveling. I also love a great conversation over a great cup of coffee and matcha. And I love food. I’m also many roles - I’m a son, a best friend, friend, a lover, a husband, and a co-founder of @terraheadshots where we are known for elevating personal branding for leaders. Together with @joyceyeomakeup, we help leaders feel seen, heard and remembered — by capturing who they are, not just what they do. Very Confidently. It’s the first time we are sharing more of ourselves. It’s world photography day but a day late 🫣 A story about people and what makes us unique…. My personal belief that everyone deserves to see and experience what confidence looks like and feel like for them. The truth: you may not like looking at yourself in photos. Why? 1. You may not have found any photographer who can help you look good. 2. You don’t see yourself all the time - people around you see you more often than you see yourself. That’s why people are more comfortable being around you whereas you aren’t used to seeing yourself all the time. Looking good is a given, but feeling confident, that is operating at a different level. There is a way to achieve a deeper level of confidence vs a surface “fake it till you make it” process. A photographer well versed with the inner works and great skill can show you the way. Imagine you’re feeling confident more than usual, would you… do more during your day? Strike a conversation and talk to more people? Solve more problems? Overcome a negative narrative of yourself for years….until you get to see. The power of confidence. This is Day “18”of me documenting how I help my clients feel confident. I worked with a female client today who was doing a photoshoot for a few media features. There was one problem. She was very hard on herself. Her friends came along to support her. Knowing she hated being in front of the camera. The shoot went well. All of us felt she looked amazing in almost every shot. But she couldn’t see it and picked on everything about herself. That got me thinking…. That used to be me. Because I came from a broken family. I had to be perfect to make up for what I didn’t have. So I became harsh on myself. Nothing was ever good enough about… How I looked. Pimples and scars on my skin. My crooked teeth. Everything. The way I treated myself… Started showing up in how I treat people I love… Until one day, my wife said in a moment of anger “I’m not you.” She cried. It hit me and that became my wake up call. I started doing the inner work. Learning to be kinder to myself. Every morning, I am sitting with tears. In the form of a release as I remind myself the 3 things I’m grateful for everyday in my life. As part of my priming exercise for the day. I’m a lot happier now. My wife too. She reminds me that she’s proud of the growth I’ve had in myself every single day. Though my client said she’s just nitpicking on herself… I just wanted to hug her and say - “You’re already amazing. You’re just haven’t been kind to yourself.” If you realize you are hard on yourself…. Pause… Think about the people who love you. If they are kind and love you for who you already are…. It means a lot to us when we have returning clients. Especially when we have grown to include body language into our process now. More human and more personality. This time round, we have @roy_mokkk who brought his whole customer success team from Jobstreet.

Spending some teambonding fun outside the office while getting their team photo and individual headshots done with us.

1. The whole team hasn’t done any team photoshoot before and wanted the overall look to be confident and successful(which they already are) - reassuring companies who work with them feel like they will be well-looked after.

Individually, as everyone had different requests, I gave them poses that felt like them and the vibes they wanted to express.

2. Afiq shared that it was his first time having a headshot photo done. He was hoping that his headshot will help him look confident yet relatable at the same time. 

3. Ecia wanted something posh, chic and still professional at the same time.

4. @donnalwein already had tons of photos of her smiling already, thus wanted to look super confident this time round.

5. Lorna wanted something friendly and comfortable whilst celebrating her pregnancy at this beautiful stage of life, as an option I gave her a pose that she can still use even after her pregnancy.

6. Roy wanted something relaxed, confident and successful at the same time. 7. Wefie 8. In the end, there were too many good shots, they needed help from each other to choose. When you work with one of Singapore and Spain’s prolific husband and wife co-founders. Each with their own experiences and accolades.
Now co-founders of an AI-native design studio for spatial planning.

Developed from pioneering AI research in design innovation.
Garnering global users from day one whilst in its 16-week public beta. @goh.yiping and @carlosbannon 
The brief? To help them create professional looking photos.
Something they can use on their website, social media as well as their public features.
As co-founders and also as individuals. I was estatic. Carlos’s keywords: creative authority, thoughtful, designer, cool and clean.

Yiping’s - professional, tech, confident, business-like, optimistic As co-founders - Lifestyle, professional, each person owning their space.

Being super clear on their positioning and goals, with visual references, we got to work. To get the outcome they wanted, I also needed to find out what wardrobe they had. Something complementary to each other.
Whilst holding their own.
An extra touch I did was to making them look cohesive with their company brand. Colors, theme and vibe-wise. Something that enhances further their already public presence. Researched their profiles thoroughly and what looks good on them. And made suggestions to get particular outfits from our favourite brands. Even photoshoot locations that are in line with their lifestyle - their home.
 Doing the prep work allowed us to go deep and create the best outcome possible. The results? Spoilt for choice materials to use for their public image and presence. And being recognized for the results we give.

Helping leaders build a personal brand that is aligned online and offline is so important these days. With leaders such as Edmund, his focus was to have photos which help show him as a multi-faceted individual: - a business adviser & strategy consultant - a trainer - a facilitator - a regular guy Photos that also show: - his confidence and his level of expertise - being approachable towards understanding how he can help solve organizational issues and move forward together - someone who can have enjoyable and lovely banter and drinks until the wee hours of the morning outside of work Of course, we needed to have hair and makeup done for him so that he can see that he looks good. Cos when you look good, you feel good and that energy shows.
