In keeping a promise I made, here's a photo I took of myself after shooting the last clip for a film. How bittersweet knowing only a few final touches remain before this six-month project ends. The film is called Holy. It's the third in a series of three short tragicomedies that take up the same theme, which I won't reveal here. These three films will screen with the short works of three other directors at live music/movie event in the works. More to come, my friends. by @terrapin46

For years, copying others, I tried to know myself. Then I heard my name called from inside a house. I opened the door and found a seat. I'll say openly that eternity has us by the belt. And that the body is a candle touched by fire, no more. by @terrapin46

I attended a conference for North American colleges and universities held in New Orleans this past week. So many round tables attempted to come to grips with differences between Boomers, Gen X, Gen Z, Alpha Gen, etc. What emerged is that these divisions are defined by the products consumed and produced during the formative period of a given generation. War and other economic upheavals are time signatures for production and consumption that shaped outlook. Here are my informative images. You? by @terrapin46

New Orleans, I love you. Doomed city, ghost city, city where the past comes vividly to life before my amazed eyes. I expect that New Orleans will be abandoned before I move on, the best science tells us that the city will not survive the rising ocean and ever-more vicious hurricanes. No meaningful mitigation is underway to save this world treasure. I'm grateful to have wandered its streets again - the last time I visited New Orleans was one month before Katrina. I am pleased to report that the local scene remains vibrant in these final days. by @terrapin46

Thrilled to see Ak'chamel, the Giver of Illness, at 13th Floor tonight. Was it theater, was it ritual? They invoked a vision of life after the Apocalypse. The audience was packed and so appreciative. by @terrapin46

Many years ago, long before this child was born, long before I met his mother, in fact, I embarked on a pie tour of Texas with my lady friend, Mari Akita. Our goal was to find the perfect slice of pie, and the only rule was that the place where we found it had to be reachable by bus - we rode bicycles and owned no car. This much should tell you that living was easy for Austin artists before 911. And that diners still existed in small towns still visited by Greyhound. On our way back from New Mexico today, the child and I diverted to Mason to visit the Willow Creek Cafe. Nothing was changed since my visit 30 years ago, except sliders had been added to the menu. Our slice of lemon pie was outstanding, with meringue like a thunder head. by @terrapin46

Yes, I exposed the child to ZZ Top today as we drove down from the panhandle back to Austin. I've held that band in reserve - my friend Mark DuFour tells me it's 'old man rock', and he should know. But I don't care. I was young when I listened to it with my father, driving the FMs to motocross races in small towns all over the state. Perfect road music for Texas. I am pleased to report my son liked it, too. by @terrapin46

I think I finally found my niche in film making. The installation 'Future Ancestral Technologies' by Cannupa Hanska Luger opened the crown in my head. by @terrapin46

My father once bought me a model airplane. I assembled the motor from the pieces in the kit. I added fuel from a squeeze bottle and spun the propeller. What terror when the engine roared to life -- that plane was like a living creature writhing in my hands! I threw it into the air and it caught at the end of the tether and began to circle around me. This new film brought back a memory of component parts fitting into place. In this clip, our hero takes a journey into the mind, deep sea diving in search of a worm in the brain. If you enjoy the reel, please share it with a friend. by @terrapin46

Kalien Delgado taught me that a film has a soul. That soul of the film will torment the director until the story is fully realized. I had strange dreams these last few nights about dear friends in trouble. Haven't seen any of them in years. Maybe someday they'll watch these little films of mine, and know that they were in my thoughts. Enough! As our tale proceeds, the hero is set on finding a brain worm. by @terrapin46
