I’m Terrence Chappell, Principal and Founder of @chappellcommunicationsgroup, a principal-led strategic communications consultancy helping social impact organizations and purpose-driven companies humanize complexity.

At a time when algorithms shape reality, opinions compete with facts, and visibility is too often mistaken for credibility, communications has become less about publishing content and more about building trust.

We ain’t going nowhere.

LGBTQ+ and Black history are American history. No matter who tries to rewrite, restrict, or erase it, our history endures, and preserving it is an investment in our collective future.

On Juneteenth, @danielhenrynisbet and I had the honor of co-hosting a gathering in support of the American LGBTQ+ Museum (@lgbtq_museum) and its mission to preserve, celebrate, and share the stories that have shaped our communities.

Many of the advances we celebrate during Pride were made possible by Black and Brown queer and trans people whose courage, activism, creativity, and leadership helped propel the LGBTQ+ movement forward. Their contributions and courage continue to shape our culture today.

Institutions like the American LGBTQ+ Museum matter because they ensure that our stories, struggles, victories, and cultural contributions are preserved for future generations and told with the depth, complexity, and the dignity they deserve.

Shoutout to my friend @zachstaff, who serves on the museum’s board and to his continued commitment to building spaces that honor and amplify our community’s stories.

We’re looking forward to the museum opening its doors in New York City in 2028!
