I have been doing a series of paintings on what it’s like to be relinquished by your mother at birth. I went directly into foster care when I was born in July of 1967, at one of the peak years of Baby-Scoop era closed-record adoptions. I have never met my mother. There’s more up on my YouTube channel, terrinelsondrawsstuff. #adoptee #adoptees #adopteevoices #artwork #watercolorpainting #contemporaryart by @terridrawsstuff

Please help California Adoptees have access to our own birth certificates. Did you know that I am not allowed to see my own birth certificate? And that the laws vary from state to state- if I had been born in Oregon, I would have gotten my birth certificate when I turned 18. Instead I will turn 59 this year, I have communicated with both of my biological parents, and I still am not allowed access to my own vital records. If the SAVE Act goes through, I will no longer be able to vote in my own country. by @terridrawsstuff

You may have noticed that I stopped putting up any images other than my dog and cat some time ago. I thought I should maybe mention that I am no longer putting my artwork up on Instagram due to my images being crawled and used to train LLM AI, for Meta and other AI. I am taking a breather and may or may not end up sharing my artwork online again. by @terridrawsstuff

We brought Twist back to what we’re calling “Summer Camp” for a week - we took him down to his wonderful breeder’s place at Imperialis Kennels to spend the week hanging out with his cousins, parents, etc., while I visit my own father. Twist, as you can see, is enthusiastic about this while thing. by @terridrawsstuff

Twist is in his new home with us and I am exhausted but happy. He’s a very good boy and has not had any accidents in the house or kept us up at night. He sleeps in his crate like a champ and he’s acing Puppy Kindergarten so far. His only vice is chasing the cat, who frankly is asking for it half the time. by @terridrawsstuff
