Dear Lawson...
Freshman year I felt like a firefly trapped inside a jar. Repeating the same flight pattern hoping to find a way to escape, only to be suffocated daily by the fact that there was no way out. The hard practices, sleepless nights, the anger, the rage, the days I cried for hours, telling myself to quit, that it wasn’t worth it. I was consumed by defeat questioning if was good enough, if I was needed..

After the season ended, I wiped my tears, laced up my shoes and went to work. l had a point to prove, a statement to make. With God in the center of it all, the top came off and I was finally free. Everyday wasn’t perfect but I was done holding myself back. Nobody could stop me but me. I went from an unsure, hesitant freshman player to a confident, strong, and consistent sophomore lighting up the night in the Lawson State Gymnasium. Looking back at my journey over these last two years has truly been a blessing.

To my coaches and our trainer, thank you for pushing me every single day and not allowing me to give up on myself. To the lawson community, thank you for the endless love and support shown throughout the season. To my family and friends, thank you for being my backbone and nurturing me to becoming the woman I am today. Lastly, to my teammates, it’s been one heck of a ride and i appreciate every single one of y’all. The laughs, the cries, the highs and the lows, y’all brought me to life this year!

Lastly I would like to thank the coaching staff at Stillman for taking the time to recruit me and giving me a chance to start my new chapter!
