Today marks a historic moment in the Terryverse. I've officially collected all 948 species of dragons in the mobile game DragonVale.

I can't remember how long I've played this game for; the earliest memory I have of it is playing it on my iPad 2 when I must've been 4-5 years old. From then, I transferred my park to my father's iPhone, my own first phone, then my new phone, my computer, and now my current phone. It's been a really long time coming; the game is 15 years old!

This last dragon that I collected is the Portent dragon, a species that rarely appears in any of the monthly events DragonVale regularly hosts. It only appears in rare occasions between events, and each time it only appears for a week before it disappears for months to years. What makes the Portent dragon even more special is how it was conceptualized: it was designed by 8 DragonVale fans in real life who visited the game studios and contributed to the dragon's concept and design. It's the proof of how small stuff like this can bring entire communities together.

Around 2 years ago I started a spreadsheet to track all the dragons I owned and didn't own, with the intention of collecting every dragon species. And now, after a decade of playing this game and 2 years of planning, I finally accomplished my goal. Big props to Backflip and DECA for making all of this even possible to begin with. And hey, if you wanna get into DragonVale, it's not too late to start collecting. ;) by @terryblueberry_
