Meet our Nelson Terry Fox Run Organizers, Terry and Chris!

We asked them why it was so important for them to bring the Terry Fox Run back to Nelson and here is what they had to say,

“Terry has been a hero of ours ever since his run across Canada. His memory is alive in our hearts and the hearts of many people in Nelson. He is a national icon and I feel every city and town in Canada should have a Terry Fox Run to keep his memory alive and continue the work that he started.

Covid stopped our run and it is long overdue that it was restarted.”

Last weekend the #PortCoquitlam @tf_rideofhope happened along the beautiful Traboulay PoCo Trail. A 24km recreational bike ride to raise funds for cancer research.
Our National office admin, @jadebugden was joined by her parents on the ride. Jade's dad, Mark wears his #terrysteammember t-shirt as someone who has been on the cancer journey and raising funds for the @terryfoxfoundation !

Last week @portcoquitlamfirefighters - IAFF Local 1941 honoured four community members at a Community Hero Challenge Coin Presentation Ceremony. Reserved for individuals who demonstrate exceptional service, courage, or compassion, the coin is given sparingly and with great meaning. In recognition of his profound legacy and connection to Port Coquitlam, the coin features the image of Terry Fox.

“Terry Fox is one of Port Coquitlam’s most cherished figures, not only here at home but across Canada and around the world.
