I started focusing on running back in 2019. In 2022, I set myself a goal: to break 4 hours in the marathon. But year after year, I kept falling short.

Berlin Marathon 2022 was my first WMM experience, and unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. I missed my target, and somehow that race left me with a trauma that stayed with me all the way to my last marathon in Indonesia last year.

This year, I was given another chance to run Berlin.

Running through those same streets again, I tried to face the memories and let go of the PTSD from that race. Every corner, every road brought back memories of what happened before.

And Alhamdulillah, this time I made it.

Garmin marathon time: 3:51:41.
Strava-recorded marathon time: 3:41:41

It’s not exactly the time I had dreamed of, but honestly, the time is not the biggest victory here.

I came back to the same roads that once haunted me, and this time, I won against the fear.

19 minutes faster than my previous marathon.

Yeah, still a PB! 🥹

Big thanks to all support system!
@noviati_ng - my parents - @plmp.id @plmp_runningteam - @pb.fuel - - @asicsid - @wm.center - @organa_id - coach @arimasrudy - and all beloved friends!

Sometimes, the biggest race isn’t against the clock. It’s against the version of yourself that once thought you couldn’t do it.
