At one point in my life.
I stayed at a job that I HATED for 4 YEARS.

I dragged myself to work every single day
and had no friends because of the huge age gap. 
I thought I was never able to get out.
 Then covid hit,
I almost lost my job.
 So I took a bet on myself for the first time,
since I had nothing left to lose anyway. 
I took courses and listened to audiobooks to improve myself which led me to finding a job that I actually liked. 
That realisation helped me to understand
I still have the ability to turn my life around.

All I had to do was try. 
Now I’m building the creative life that I’ve been dreaming of for years.
 And I hope you will stay for the ride :) by @terryshiu_

These 4 actions really helped to turn my life around:

1. Learn - I started taking courses to level up my skills and listened to audiobooks to expand my knowledge.

2. Trust - I was asked to create an animation from scratch which I had no prior experience on.
I watched Youtube tutorials for every step and trusted the process, eventually I completed the project after 3 weeks.

3. Try - I tried posting on Youtube and shared my experience without expecting anything.

4. Ask - I asked to do free shoots when I first started freelance videography, this helped me to gain confidence and allowed me to show clients that I’m capable to take on the work.

If you want to change, start by taking a small step today.

My life was in shambles a few months ago after I came back from holidays and got sick.

My fitness went down.
I was not motivated to do stuff.
All I did was scrolling my phone and lying on the couch all day.

But I knew this isn’t the life I wanted.
And I knew motivation isn’t just going to come at me.
So I took it slowly, step by step.

Starting with just waking up before 9am,
and doing a 5 minute walk.

Then joining my friends for the Friday morning runs once again,
which they even switched up their training plan to help me get back on track.

I learned that sometimes you just need to start to get the momentum going.

At one point I lost the plot and was creating videos for the algorithm to chase views and subscribers.

Those videos were helpful and performed well, but it wasn’t always the most exciting thing that I wanted to share. 
I started to feel empty inside. 
One day I was creating a compilation of all my vlogs, I realised how long I haven’t been making them and how much I missed those.

The memories, the moments I lived in. 
So I started to create for connections again. Just like how I first started. by @terryshiu_
