Burning man is not about the outfits or the photos.
But it's definitely not about dimming your light for fear of what the internet will say about your outfits and photos.
It is whatever you want it to be and whatever you make of it. It's making the best of the hard times, the dust and rain and mud. For me burning man is about dancing through all of it. And why not make it a little brighter with a sparkly outfit?

Losing my childhood home in the Palisades fire:

At @burningman this past year, I met a pregnant couple who had just moved to the Palisades to raise their new family.

I’m from the Palisades, so they asked me how my childhood was & if I’d recommend living there.

Nobody had ever asked me that question before… I was taken aback, so much so, I had to pause before answering as a surge of emotion rushed through my body.

“My childhood… it was… it was wonderful. The Palisades is a perfect place to raise a family, you’re going to love it.”

And I meant it.
With all my heart.❤️

Since then, l’ve had a newfound appreciation for how incredibly fortunate I am to have been raised in a place like the Pacific Palisades.

I think about that moment often.
And each time I do,
My heart fills with immense gratitude.

That conversation gave me a fresh pair of eyes to see what had been there all along: the neighborhood, my house, my childhood bedroom - which, until a few days ago, was still perfectly in tact: a shrine of my youth, one that I could visit anytime I wanted.

In that way, the past few months were glorious. And also... they make the fact that it’s gone forever all the more difficult to bear.

Because with great love comes the risk of great sadness…

If you have something to lose,
It’s because you have something real.
Something worth keeping.
Something so good, your heart would shatter into a million pieces of broken glass if something were to happen to it.

Real Love is terrifying,
Because it means you have something to lose.

And yet…
Despite it all,
No matter the odds,
I would rather risk my heart breaking,
Over and over again,
Just to have one more chance at something so pure,
rather than live the rest of my life never again having loved something or someone as much as I loved being able to call 847 Iliff “ home. “

Are you done dating sh*theads? 👻

If you’ve been settling for less than you deserve in dating it’s because your standards aren’t high enough.

🍝 It’s not crazy to expect a “thank you” after treating someone to a nice meal.

👻 It’s not crazy to be upset if someone ghosts you after what you thought was a lovely date night.

❤️ It’s not crazy to be pissed if your date is an hour late and keeps making excuses.

💬 It’s not crazy to be frustrated if you’re the one constantly driving the conversation and asking questions only to receive one word answers.

🤔 It’s not crazy to be skeptical if she cancels last minute for the 3rd time and is “sick.”

You know what IS crazy?
Staying in a relationship out of things like CONVENIENCE, FEAR, EGO, SCARCITY, or SUNK COST FALLACY.

If you’re seeing this, you’re probably quite successful in your career or passions. Would you tolerate this behavior in a business deal? I don’t think so. ❌

🚨 STOP letting strangers and people who haven’t earned your trust walk all over you.

✅ START dating people who make your heart happy, not just your ego. 🤯

⛵️ The Truman Show Test 🧪

Imagine this:

30 days from now, your life will be live-streamed 24/7 for the entire world to see.

No edits. No filters.
Just you.
Fully visible.
Every moment on display.

Now ask yourself:

💣 What’s the first thing you’d change?
🎯 How strong is your reaction on a scale from 1 to 10?
🌪️ Would your final month of this year feel chaotic… or calm?
📸 Is there anything you’re currently doing (or avoiding) that you’d rush to clean up before the cameras roll?
🚭 Any habits you’ve struggled to quit that would suddenly become non-negotiable to let go of?
❤️‍🔥Are the relationships in your life ones you’d be proud to showcase?
Not just in how they treat you—but how you treat them?
🗑️ Would you panic and clean your space?
Or would your environment already reflect the life you want to live?

I know this is a bold thought experiment.
But it’s not about shame.
It’s about alignment.

Because even when nobody’s watching…
You are.
And that counts for everything.

So:
How do you want to end this year?
Not perfectly.
But intentionally.
