As we approach a New Year, I was inspired to design a leather cuff that looked like the iconic firework display that signifies new beginnings.

If you are new to my page, WELCOME. Here you will find encouragement, faith stories and original designs.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are NEW every morning. Leviticus 3:22-23

Happy New Year Friends!

You’ve broke through 1000 fences, been rescued from 1000 ditches
You still swear you don’t fit in, so you leave again

But how’s it going out there? Acting like you ain’t scared.
How’s that heart of stone?

Crying tears you hope nobody sees, guess the Good News is He’ll never leave you be
Jesus loves you, black sheep

You hate everything about you
You think we are better off without you
You wear your pain on your sleeve and you paint it in rebel ink

But the alcohol and pills ain’t fixing a thing
💛 He Loves You Black Sheep

Lyrics and song by @bendfuller

I designed this hat with this song in mind out of leather hide hair, feathers, and broken jewels. This is your reminder he loves you, black sheep by @testify_designs

A post to inspire artisans, and to use the gifts God has endowed you. Exodus 31:1-5 reads…
I have filled Bezalel with the spirit of God to design artistic works, to work in gold, and silver, and bronze, and cutting jewels for setting, and carving wood and to work in all manner of workmanship.

My friend Sherry recently reminded me of this passage and how God cares about artistry as he gave instructions on how to build the Tabernacle.

How might God be calling you to use your creativity to glorify Him?

Here I made a leather cuff with a bronze floral motif and a stone as the center point. It is no coincidence that this passage in Exodus inspired this design.

Thank you for following along, and I hope you feel inspired. by @testify_designs

Happy to share this commissioned piece of art with you. I want this to be a place where you feel supported and encouraged. Christina Hill Art did an amazing job with this custom artwork that we collaborated on for a very special client.

This client has grit and has persevered through many trials. This is why I named this commissioned piece “Perserverence”

A woman with a very small circle of friends is a very secure woman. She knows that quality matters over quantity. She doesn’t need a crowd to validate her worth; her Confidence comes from within, not from the approval of others.

She knows her own strength. She is selective with her energy and, who she lets into her life. She doesn’t need to be surrounded by people to feel complete. Her small circle of friends is built around those who have proven their loyalty.

She doesn’t waste time on meaningless relationships. Her time is precious and she spends it wisely. Don’t underestimate her, she is CONFIDENT and knows her WORTH. by @testify_designs

Recently, I had an opportunity to help with the florals for a wedding. It was at the beautiful @thebrawleyestate estate in Mooresville.

It was like stepping back in time seeing the beautiful old Farmhouse and property. It had a quaint little chapel tucked away in the back that made me most excited. These earrings were created to reflect a time gone by. Once homes were filled with beautiful furnishings and chinoiserie china and ginger jars.

I created these to walk down memory lane. The beautiful colored Callalilly is leftover from the wedding flowers. If you need an exceptionally creative florist I recommend my friend Melanie. She conjures up visions in her mind to reflect both the venue space and the couple getting married.

Message me and. I will happily give you her contact. Meanwhile help me name these earrings I designed….Reflections? Memory Lane? Heritage? I welcome your input. by @testify_designs

Deserts & Gardens
Last Sunday at church our worship team sang a song, and something in me AWAKENed me to its truth. For the past several seasons I have been introspective and I feel the Lord has quieted my spirit and redirected my focus to gaze just upon Him. My creativity and desire to create anything fell by the wayside. I believe He was purposeful in removing anything that distracted me from His work in me. This worship song inspired this design.

The color of the crystal reflects that of a desert and the circle signifies his bringing things to completion, full circle.

“He’s everything I need so I will not worry, I will not fear my enemy. I KNOW He has Good Plans for me so I will take heart in desserts and gardens”. This song is by Red Rocks.

I have also intentionally pulled back from posting because I wanted to focus on my two sons who both recently graduated. One from college and the other from High School.

I know and hope they know as well, He has Good Plans for them. And so for you my friend. Take heart in the desserts and gardens. by @testify_designs

The UGLY cry.

While visiting Savannah, I noticed the aged oak trees, dripping in moss. I wondered how many storms they had weathered in the volatile elements in that region.

This design represents the moss draping over those beautiful trees and my Ugly cry.

I had two altercations with family members that left me weary and depleted. I decided to take a walk to calm myself down when tears came pouring down my face, as well as snot as I experienced a cathartic cry that was gut wrenching.

My older son called me, and I could barely speak, as I answered his call. I was gasping for breath, not knowing what side was up and what side was down. He had not known me to be in such a fragile state.

He wisely recommended that I call a friend and have that friend pray over me. I called the right friend who got down in the fox hole with me and prayed a precise prayer that once over, returned my heart rate to normal and slowed my racing mind so that I could center myself again.

Be choosy of who you allow to speak truth into your life. Be selective with your friends. I am forever grateful for this one friend, who answered my call and prayed over me. I am also grateful for my son, for being an agent of the Lord, and pointing me in the right direction.

Not quite end of summer, yet not quite fall. STUCK.
Feeling trapped in this space is the inspiration for this design.

This is the time of year my mother passed away. It’s a time of reflection, sorrow and joy to have been with her in her last days.

It is time to pause, when the world is moving forward, Retail is pushing back to school, hot summer days and I’m barely breathing deeply in the stifling heat.

Feeling Stuck and alone in my reflections. So in a swift devotional time I ask God:
How long will I be here? God answers;
—-> I am just too distracted to notice.

This is what the inspired word reads in Jeremiah 29:10:

you will be in Babylon for 70 years. But then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again.

I don’t know how exactly 70 years is in God’s time frame, I don’t know what your Babylon is, but let us focus on the phrase in Jeremiah that reads

“I will come to you”. by @testify_designs

Recently we had our annual family reunion. This year was distinctive because we held it at my Maw maw and Paw paws old farm homestead.

As a child I recall the simplicity of playing hide and go seek in the blue hydrangeas bushes that skirted the front porch where we’d sit and snap the ends of green beans picked earlier that day.

I am grateful we didn’t have technology then. Our imaginations ran rampant like the fields of wildflowers between my house and Maw & Paws.

She had an old well covered with a concrete stone cap that I’d stand on and pretend to tower over the rural universe.

The smell of horse manure oddly enough, evokes fond memories of playing out on the farm, working up a ravishing appetite and coming inside to the intoxicating aroma of freshly prepared buttermilk biscuits made with Crisco lard.

I tried to recreate those memories using this stone centerpiece and pieces of mother of pearl strands that had come apart. It’s a reminder that you reap what you sow. I want to sow gratitude, faithfulness, peace, laughter and leave space for imagination.

Every year I make a trip to Dewberry manor farms for fresh tulips in glorious bursts of colors. Right now their Dahlias and Sunflowers are pushing up. I trek there because it reminds me of days down on the farm with my precious grandparents.
Sow some happiness for yourself by visiting there. @dewberryfarms by @testify_designs
