Hi Friends! I've made a new update to the Substack blog! Also here are some photos I took in September. I honestly cannot believe I've been here for 2 months (next week)! Part of me feels like I've been here for a couple weeks! 😅 It's going by so fast.

In the blog, I share some experiences that have begunnto grow amd change me and a few prayer requests to help me continue growing and reaching for the person Jesus wants me to be.

Again, I would not be here but for the grace of God to open doors, the way he turned my life around and filled me with the richness of life that comes from His presence in my life! When I feel broken, beaten, and damned, Jesus reminds me that he mends, he uplifts, and he saves.

"He picked me up, he turned me around, he places my feet on solid ground. I thank the Master. I thank the Savior. I thank God!"

If you feel you need rescuing, know that there is a way out already prepared for you. His burden is easy and light, trade your sorrows for his peace and his joy. Reach for his healing, already paid for. The richness of life free of cost!

Some foods I've been eating here in Kenya!

Oh someone who knows #swahili might be able to help me. I only know #oongalee and #pilau.

Not pictured, because I don't consume it by my mouth, is the Word of God. I am increasing my faith daily by spending time meditating on the Bible and hiding it in my heart. My spiritual hunger is satisfied by one thing alone and that is the presence of God. I hear him through the words of His Scriptures and I love Him more every day.

Psalm 119:15-16 ESV
"I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word."

Hi friends! Long time since I posted. Last you knew me, I was deep in the fanbase of MCR and only cared about them and myself above everything in life.

I want to tell you that everything has changed. I realized there was something more that my spirit was hungry for, something that MCR could not even begin to satisfy. In fact, there was a darkness in me that was begging for a light.

About 2.5 years ago I started going to church. That first year, I was timid and tentative. I didn't fully believe anything I heard but my inner being needed to be there. I kept going. After a year, I gave my life to Jesus. I gave him what was already his. I felt a complete change in my spirit. The old me- the shell around my heart was chipping away and the new Charlie was being born. I was full of joy, real joy deeper than a smile, a song in my soul, the old way that MCR made my guts light up... This is a fire of joy in me burning with deep peace and wild enthusiasm for a new life and new purpose.

*There is nothing more captivating to me than the Grace of God. The truth that this world's darkness is born and fed by sin. The wonder and foolishness that the God who made us, wants to bring you back into his purity. The grace, so rich and endless that God became man to provide a perfect solution to our human sin: a gift free to everyone who believes that Jesus is Lord and he died and rose again to save them. And a new peace and purpose discovered in the fountain that is Jesus' love. To drink from that fountain you simply have to say Yes!

Last August, I was baptized; and I set my mind to putting God first in every way. It took some time to shed every piece of the old me, but the deeper in love I fall with Jesus, the less I want any of the old Charlie laying around in my new life. Simultaneously, I've been pursuing a way to become a missionary evangelist, a calling I have felt even tugging at me in my old life. An opportunity came to cut ties with my old life altogether and move to Kenya to attend a missionary bible school.

Happy birthday to me!
After ober a year away from using social media daily, I am feeling better in every way. My mental health has never been so sound and my self worth is stronger than ever. It feels, really like I left society.

I want to encourage you to, at the very least, take a break from the apps for a month or two.
